That Lee fella from South Korea is a helluva sweeper.

winter olympics now featuring competitive starcraft matches

"you must construct additional pylons."

Our mixed doubles brother and sister curling team really shit the bed.

I used a random country generator to choose my rooting interest...

GO MALTA!

CNN reports that “Some 110,000 condoms will be distributed to the 2,925 or so athletes, 10,000 more than in Sochi and Vancouver.”  That’s about 37 per athlete...

Put together a group of people who are arguably some of the most fit of our species and they want to fuck each other? Not exactly a shocking story. lol

Watched some figure skating last night with the kids. All around horrible. Almost as though the ice was a different consistency/surface than they were accustomed to. Way too many falls.

Ice Nine.

ah, yes.

The alleged Olympic fuck village was a topic of conversation at my household last evening.

Our consensus was the horniness level is probably a healthy mix between a college campus, military barracks and that terrible 'drawn together' adult cartoon from Comedy Central years ago.

All this begs the question of who is getting the most gold medals in the sexathlon?

>>>All this begs the question of who is getting the most gold medals in the sexathlon?

and why cant they buy their own condoms

Whoa do you think there might be some foreign relations (groan) between North and South Korea?

Some athletes only compete in 1 event...what do they do w/ the rest of their days?

love the Olympics.

R the condoms olympic themed like with flags and rings and stuff?

How r they distributed? In gift bags? By the coaches or committee representatives?

if an athlete runs out of condoms will more complimentary ones b supplied to them?

is the sex normal or some world class competition style of banging unbeknownst to us average folk?

is there any chance of any of it being televised in the future as a sort of olympics after dark deal?

is the sex normal or some world class competition style of banging unbeknownst to us average folk?

While I can't say for sure about the Olympics, I do know that in the past during World Cup skiing events, there has been competitions in which the scoring was based on frequency, partners, partner time to orgasm and such.

Hey, it gets cold in the winter and one needs a way to stay warm.

"All around horrible."

That's why it was on last night.

Apparently the torch lighting giant phallic symbol got a lot of reaction.

https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/5540595/winter-olympics-2018-lighting-cere...

Is Trojan an official, or unofficial, Olympic sponsor?

I'm sorry, u guys can focus on medals, scores, phallic torch lighting ceremonies and the like if u want to but this orglympic village is the real story if u ask me.

Didn't see any sex pics in that link, Cept maybe that oily dude with the flag, sure u posted the right one?

As much as I hate to pause the posts about the sexual olympics, I need to do my usual rah-rah bit for the US skiers. It seems that in women's moguls, Jaelin Kauf, is peaking at the right moment and bringing a lot of momentum into the games. Her mother, Patti, was a multi-year competitor in the X-Games Skiercross and if Jaelin has her mother's drive and moxie, she could walk away with a medal. Of course one of the favorites in the games this year is Lindsey Vonn. Simply put, she is amazing in her ability to win races after a number of injuries that would leave mortals bedridden for the rest of their lives. This past weekend she won her 80th and 81st races on the World Cup circuit. If she doesn't crash, always a possibility when you push it to the edge like she does, she should podium and very likely as a gold medal(s) winner.

I Have Been to South Korea - You Can Get LAID In A Flat Second If You Are An A American ... Just Visit The Bars there !

You people are gross.

It's the olypmics themselves that r a grotesque display of nationalism, excess, and fornication, slack.

we r but meager observers

Even the lugers get lucky sometimes.

We are excited about Morgan Schild, freestyle mogul skier.  She is from my hometown and attended high school with my kids.  Go Morgan!

Thanks China for getting us back on track. I think I saw her in last night's broadcast!

AWESOME C. -  R. !

INCREDIBLE Clarity Visions and Sound  #Olympics A+++++ ON NBC.

The atmosphere in that stadium is sleepy.

The atmosphere in that stadium is sleepy.

how come the stands look empty?

You are sleepy.

Crowd Estimates at around 35,000

Lol. Was thinking the exact same thing about the stands being empty. The opening ceremony has been reqlly

terrible so far. NBCs coverage of just about anything is awful.

They said earlier that the empty seats were reserved for the athletes in the parade.

2952 athletes in the games.

^ They must spread then out to make it look more full in that 15,000 seat area.

Wow. That old Korean National anthem was absolutely beautiful. Best part of the show so far.

LIGHT THE CALDRON!

The drones were very cool , I am enjoying it all :)

Those stairs are almost worse than Red Rocks.

whats mary lou retton up to these days?

That guy got back on the floor after being taken away the first time? Pretty awesome.

Wife and I decided to Dvr it and microdose on fungus, no spoilers please.

^Whoops, my bad. You’re in for a treat.

I'm just gonna say it, musically 'gagnam style' has aged better anyone would have rightly expected.

jus sayin', ain't no one takin a knee during that.

^Their old national anthem is the truth.

Yeah, that 600 year old guy was fo real.

Great vibe.

E would have probably been a better trip for these opening ceremonies, which I felt were optimized by the name of the national dance troop, "just jerk".

truly a fantastically masturbatory display to b enjoyed by young and old alike, as is life.

If you told me 20 years ago that I'd even watch the opening ceremonies, much less enjoy it, I would have told you to get the fuck out of town.

Love the luge

johnny weir sure does throw some shade. the guy is a master.

agreed.

he's a sassy bitch, he is

Point of order question:

Can we discuss event wins/losses before the US broadcast of that event?

That would be akin to posting the set list before the show starts.

Maybe post it in the Korean language so any interested parties can use google translate if they want to know the results beforehand. (assuming no one here speaks Korean)

hobeokeulapeuteuneun baemjang-eolo gadeug chaissda.

호버크라프트는 뱀장어로 가득 차있다.

Everything is happening so fast. Let's slow it down.

Normally, I wear my favorite sports teams shirts when I'm watching their games, standard practice for sure...   but what do you wear for curling?

Packers jersey?

This is probably a stupid question but why do the snow boarders wear those heavy bulky baggie jackets and pants? Seems like they would have more mobility and get more air if they wore the skin suits like the skiers.

That is not a stupid question. I wish I knew the answer. Watching the ski flying earlier, I wondered why all the competitors do not close their mouths. It causes an obvious wind catching drag.

Gold and silver(both from Norway) kept their mouths closed during the jump/ flight.

Their mouths are open because they're screaming "OOOOOHHHH DEEEAAAARRR GOOOODDDDD NOOOOOO", while the Norwegians are just trying to get to the laden smorgasbord

Our local girl is out :-(

PYEONGCHANG — A dissappointing update if you've been following the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang as local skiier Morgan Schild has failed to advance to the second final round of Olympic women's freestyle skiing moguls.

Tough break for Morgan. Jaelin Kauf made it into the second final but placed 7th and will not advance to the final round. The nice thing is all those women are young and just starting to come into their peak years. It bodes well going forward.

Beastie Boys' "Check Your Head" sincs up good with the figure skating with the sound turned off.

Killer half pipe snow boarding Clohe 1080 On now at NBC

She crushed that first run. Gonna be tough to beat.

wipeout in the womens luge. Austrian. Looks to be ok.

love the downhill

>>  Seems like they would have more mobility and get more air if they wore the skin suits like the skiers.

yes, but you can't conceal a bag of weed and a lighter in a skin suitwink

Seems to be a tough course for the Super G'ers.

>Beastie Boys' "Check Your Head" sincs up good with the figure skating with the sound turned off.

lol

DeadCo syncs up good with curling.

Our men’s curling team has been awful so far. The rivalry and tension between John Shuster (the skip) and Tyler George (#2 On this team) has obviously carried over to them being on a team together and is negatively effecting this tournament.

Losing to the Italians made me throw up, it was horrible.

Why do post event interviewers need to bring up the athlete's recently deceased relative ? Unnecessary and uncool.

That is uncool.

Ya know what IS cool though?

Czech Republic beat Canada in men's hockey.

Without NHL'ers the hockey is much more globally competitive.

I like it.

The Czech’s are good in hockey, they won the Olympics gold in 1998 and have won a bunch of world championships too. Think Jagr and friends.

I will take the other opinion and say I’d MUCH rather watch the olympics hockey with the best NHL players rather than a mix of KHL All-Stars, young European guys and fringe N.American players. I’d rather watch Canada lose fair and square,

And if we are going to have Brian Gionta as our captain, why not go big and just bring Chris Drury back?

I don’t like it

I am so glad that when the NBC broadcast switched over to skating after the top seeded Woman's Super G contestants finished up that I went to my computer to watch the live feed of the rest of the field last night.

I got to watch what may be the most amazing ski racing win of all time by Ester Ledecka. Ledecka is primarily a snowboarder and is the favorite for the woman's snowboarding dual slalom race coming up, but she has entered a handful of woman's ski races in the past 2 years to give herself a challenge. She has done minimal training on skis and her previous results show that; easily being outclassed by the dedicated skiers. How last night's gold medal unfolded is simply unbelievable. It went something like this.

Mikaela Shiffrin: In order to focus on the upcoming woman's downhil and combined races, I've decided to not compete in the Super G. I need the rest and training for those other events.

Ester Ledecka: Hey, Mikaela. Since you aren't competing in the Super G, I have a favor to ask you. I'm bored as can be waiting for my races and if I don't do something, I'm going to go stir crazy. Since there is an open slot, can I borrow your skis and race with them? I left my skis at home since I wasn't planning on skiing, my focus is on snowboarding. I think running the Super G will be a hoot and help me release a little pressure.

Mikaela: Sure thing, Ester. Make sure to put them back when you are done. Have fun, girlfriend.

Ester: Thanks, M. You're a doll.

Later that day...

Ester: Holy shit. I won gold!!!

Basically the above is the equivalent to a Nascar driver who had only competed on the top level in Nascar, on a lark borrowing a Formula 1 car from a buddy on his day off and winning Grand Prix of Monaco.

I love this stuff.

Whoa I’ll have to watch a replay of that. Here’s a story I ran across about how NBC screwed everything up regarding that race: https://screengrabber.deadspin.com/how-nbc-flubbed-its-super-g-coverage-...

in the meantime a massive curling match between the USA and Japan is starting right now, both teams are 2-2. Crazy.

>> Basically the above is the equivalent to a Nascar driver who had only competed on the top level in Nascar, on a lark borrowing a Formula 1 car from a buddy on his day off and winning Grand Prix of Monaco.

I think you are overselling it. She's competed at the top levels in Super-G before:

Ledecká has combined her snowboarding career with competing in alpine skiing: she made her debut on the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup in February 2016, finishing 24th in her first race, the Kandahar downhill in Garmisch.  She went on to score points in four of her first five World Cup races, competing in the downhill and Super-G disciplines.

USA over CANADA in curling last night in extra ends was a real tear jerker. Hate to see Canada bumped out of the tournament but a hell of a showing from our boys last night.

still trying to figure out curling - must google

I can understand the doping motivation for athletes competing in highly physical sports...but doping in curling, why?

If you consider racing in World Cup races as competing at the top levels, then yes. The truth is that the lower rung of racers, below 20, is so far off pace that getting top 10 is usually the best race of their life and a sporting miracle. In some World Cup races at places that don't have the magic of top courses, an excellent non-competing skier is able to finish in the top 30 and gain pts toward qualifying for the Olympics. Though not a woman's Alpine skier, the case of American competing under the Hungary flag, Elizabeth Marian Swaney, is a case in point for the above. She competed in Woman's Half Pipe skiing and was able to qualify for the Olympics despite never doing any tricks. All she to qualify was to enter contests that had few, if any, top skiers in them, skied up and down the pipe without falling and after those who were "really" competing would fall, moved up the standing enough to garner enough points to qualify. While her's is an extreme example, it shows how by just gaining WC pts, one can compete in the Olympics.

I need to apologize to the USA Men’s Olympic Curling Team.

I doubted you. I counted you out. I cursed our Skip, John Shuster, for being indecisive and allowing too much input from his players and I cursed those players for their awful play.

I did not abandon them though, because I enjoy some pain. I kept watching. And watching. And what did I get for that? I got to watch our boys steamroll through Canada for the first time ever in the Olympics, followed by upsets of Switzerland and the UK to make it into the semi-finals where we will once again play our neighbor to the north and ideological nemesis in every possible way, Canada.

Good luck boys. Don’t fuck this up.

USA!!! USA!!!!!! USA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My Neighbor up the street and his wife are From South Korea ! some of the Nicest people I Have ever met ! He gives me History lessons On Korea ! = RAD !

I keep looking for Rocky J Squirrel..........

WOW - USA MEN’S CURLING BEAT CANADA AGAIN AND WILL PLAY FOR THE GOLD MEDAL!!!! Possibly the biggest upset in curling history.

Canada, gold medalists in the last 3 olympics go down to the USA AGAIN, this time 5-3. The USA will now play Sweden in the gold medal match.

WOW. The Madison curling club will be hopping tonight!

This short track is pretty cool in kind of a dog racing way.

Congrats to the USA men curlers!

And congrats to the USA women's hockey team gold!

I don't even like hockey but that hockey game was exciting as hell!

Come on. Nobody else kept hearing Bullwinkle when they were saying Mowinkle?

Can't believe I watched as much Winter Olympics as I have.  I blame Catch and Lois. They got me started.

A Russian curler was juicing?  For real?

I didn't think anything could make that sport any funnier.

I was wrong.

The curling final is tonight 1230am I’ll be up cheering our boys on.

USA WINS THE GOLD IN MEN’S CURLING HOLY FUCKING SHIT

As I slowly wake up, head somewhat hurting from the celebratory drink and in desperate need of water, I begin to remember just why we were celebrating.

HOLY SHIT THE USA WON A GOLD FUCKING MEDAL IN MEN’S CURLING!!!!'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Couldn’t be more proud.

Great gold medal men's hockey game going on now. Tied at 1 after 2. The German goaltender has been brilliant. It looks to me that the russians are the more talented team but the germans are hangin right there with them. Should be a good 3rd period.

What a game. The OARs win in OT. The Germans had em late in the 3rd but gave up a shorty with less than a minute to play. The skilled russians prevailed on the power play in the end. Great effort by the Germans.

“Glaubst Du an Wunder? NYET!!!!!”

Best moment in the games:

diggins4.jpg

Agreed. That and the women's hockey win.

Does the best moment need to be USA related?  The photo finish with the German and Frenchman in biathlon was impressive as well.  The Frenchmen won by a ski boot.

I thought it was a pretty good games.

lots of high stakes drama on the ice and impressive high flying acrobatics on the pipe and slopes.

opening and closing ceremonies were trippy.

Agreed, the ceremonies were very trippy!

>>>Does the best moment need to be USA related?

When it's the USA winning their first Gold in any cross county event EVER, then yes (though I am biased).

And while I am a fan of 'The Frenchman', he is one of the very best Biathletes of all time, so the only drama was that the race was that close (apparently he had the flu or something).

damn, I miss the games already... thinking of braving the drive up this weekend to get some much needed powder.  You been getting any trips in this year, Racket?
