I dig this stuff. Cosmic yet empirical.  The beginning of observe and measure.  Also, the mighty pentatonic scale. As Kimock says "A note, a note on either side of that one, and a note on either side of those."  My current fav is the Coltrane pentatonic, minor sixth.
