Q!Q!Q!

I totally misread the email announcement at first and thought it was for Colorado!

That's still awesome news for those who are traveling to NY.

(Hoping it'll be the same, but not hold breath)

The Nov 2 & 3 dates in the Grate Room would be great to see The Q.

I also dig the lineup for the Oct 18-20 shows. With the Fruit Bats playing TXR on Oct 21, its going to be a tough time getting back and setup.

I'm in!

Yo, bring that back to the Bay Area!

^^^^ Right?!!!   Bay Area fans deserve some home Q.  Kinda like BBQ, but less Philling, more thrilling.  ;)

Lol lol

good prose

Thanks for the heads up Burns! yesheart

pz_0.jpg

I saw it 15 mins after being posted, didn't even hesitate....we are in for all 3 "Q" shows <3.

I called Bob to tell him and he said " No way, this has to be an April Fools joke " ...lol !!

I was like what ??

With our 5 nite Beacon Panic run getting postponed, I now have something super amazing to look forward to :).

Hope to see some of you Phreaks there <3

Any interest in a Zoner meet up before the Phil Cap shows on the 11th? Please show your interest and any suggestions as to where we could meet now that the Philton can't be our gathering point. I'm really missing good tacos but am up for anything. I would love to see as many old friends as possible.

You Easties have a blast! So good to see Zoners gathering to party and see Phil. Stay safe! And raise a glass for Gitmo, Lites, Louie, Box of Eyes and all the great departed Easties.

>>>Lites

Was listening to the Petaluma RRE show the other day and that was the last time I saw him.  He turned to me and said "I gotta go" and that was that.

Hope these shows are excellent for those going.

> Q!Q!Q!

Shouldn't that be Q!Q!Q!Q!Q! ?

Maybe Phil saw the Billy K. shows and decided he should put a real band together.

Got a ticket for the 12th.

Dear Phil,  please rehearse.

Rehearsals, if they happen, won't be the days just before the show.  Jimmy and Widespread have 3 sold out shows in Texas on Oct 8, 9 and 10.  He'll have to hustle just to make it to sound check on time on the 10/11.

I seriously doubt there will be much if any rehearsing, they will wing it.

They'll probably work out a few things at the sound check, but I don't see these guys getting together to rehearse at this point.

Ugh, I hope the Texas shows don't infect any of the band members a second time.
(((keep Phil and everyone COVID-free)))

They should cancel to protest the ridiculous abortion ruling, but I rea;lize the musicians got to make a living too.

They'll probably work out a few things at the sound check, but I don't see these guys getting together to rehearse at this point.<<

I expect some hiccups and clams (and probably some PrompTer issues) on 10/11.

I expect I won't much mind.

Q !

Play The Warfield PLEASE !

Awesome Cumberlyn ~ ALL 3 Shows

> I expect some hiccups

And well you should. This is Grateful Dead music. What ever happened to our love for warts and all?

> Play The Warfield PLEASE !

Would you settle for the Wiltern, Rob?

Q-Band will be warmed up after the Colorado run...

Like when is NEXT weeks lineup gonna be announced

When you arrive at the show!

A poster on FB says the Colorado lineup is grahame, stu, holly bowling, and john molo.

Full disclosure: I added the Oxford comma.

Couch.

My Colorado mantra:

Come for the hiking

Stay for the Phil show (whoever the Friends may be)...

I can live with that lineup

Wouldn’t pay @$140 to see this.   $50 sure but any more, hard pass.  Paid $6 to see Zappa band and Crimson on Saturday.

There are only so many circles around the sun

and unlikely very many more if any for the Q If any

I am in

got a live while you can

Go big or go home

Sit at home and watch the stream of the cover band

I'm in for all three, starting to feel like eczj

really does feel like some grand old daze

here's hoping the Mu doesn't fuck us up

Although some of the Q reunion shows have left me somewhat underwhelmed, it's only fitting this is the band that reclaims the stage during Phil's return to the Cap. The cosmic gumbo energy will be more than palpable on the first night. Electric. See you there.

I am sure the Quintet will bring atomic kung fu for what very well could be the last time.

I told you once and I told you twice.

I am super happy for you Zoners who get to go!

Hey Now!

Right Now, on Ticketbastard: $119 GA's  available for Monday, if anyone is looking.smiley

((((Atomic Kung Fu))))

RRG hopefully you can join us for some pre-game at the dinner meet-up been way way way to long

Sounds most excellent, I'll keep my eye on the shenanigans ...yes

I grabbed one a few hours ago ;)

boing

Super surprised that the Q dates aren't sold out by now in such a small place,?

Is it a pain in the ass to commute to the show via metro north and downtown?

^^* I was thinking about the train too as the super cheap AirBnB rooms are outside of PC... the CAP is across the street from the train station.   just don't know about after the show, because you gotta stay til the last note is played....

If I recall, I've seen train folks bailing early on weeknights, but not weekends.  Which seems wrong.  But I don't ride the trains.

EDIT:  Also, there's the whole "If I recall" thing.

I stay in the city and take the train. You just need to be careful not to miss the last train, but I've not had a problem. I grew up near Port Chester and have no desire to hang out in Westchester more than I have to, and it's just nice to be in the city, easier to meet up with friends, better food, etc. So it's a bit of a pain, but worth it from my perspective.

Thanks.

china rider please

This video is freaking fantastic, and it helps explain some of our emotions

PIG WAS THE MAN.  sheesh

I'm thinking about going. Where do people stay? Does it matter which airport to fly into?

^^^
That link is not right.

See Ya There...

Hey Pete,

Easiest (closest) airport is HPN (Westchester County) but from West Coast the best deals are likely at JFK, EWR or LGA.

After HPN, the next closest airports are LGA, JFK and EWR.
United might offer flights from STS to HPN, too.

For lodging, I would bet that the Courtyard Marriott, just 1 mile south of the CAP, is the likely replacement for the Philton, but prices are over $200/night last I checked.
AirBnB rooms in neighboring towns can be had for under $100 / night + the usual fees.

Good luck!

Thanks for the right link long live! Priceless. I was fortunate to see Pig live once. Only regret is I didn't see him a shitload more. He like Jerry was one if a kind!

Thanks LL...I'm zeroing on that place to stay.

New 1970-08-30 KQED Studio 1080p60 video upgrade - though still not perfect, it's much better than other versions. Still waiting for the master to come out of the vaults.

Friend just called with Monday Q tickets he wants to trade for Wed Q.

He asked me to post here, as he's not a Zoner.

I said ok but if someone wants them they have to give out their contact info (and trader can call/text/email them), as I don't have mine posted here.

So here it is -- I did him a favor and maybe you, too.

Ruth's chris Sunday night for steak!

 Broken arrow me!

When was the last time Phil played the Cap? I know Phil-o-ween 2019 was canceled, then Covid......

When/where was the last time the Q played together?

Pretty sure the last Cap shows were June 11 and 12, 2019 with Jorma, Grahame, Rob B and Molo.

Also pretty sure last Q shows were March 17 and 18, 2016 at the Cap as part of the Phil's 76th bday run - at least that was my last Q shows.

Tick tock, tick tock.

The hour is nigh.

Kicking myself, to be missing these shows, but super excited for all the zoners going to the Q!Q!Q!Q.  There will be some special nights to come, I get chills just thinking about it.

Peak15 is in the air, please take care of my man as he is flying solo.  FOMO is strong... send some pics.  Love to all, have a blast.

Jamjuice, nice to hear from you!
I arrived to Port Chester on a red eye flight a few hours ago.

It's rainy, time for a nap.  Warmer weather tomorrow

It'll be fun to see Peak15 here!
Everyone keeps an eye out for each other, to be sure.

My only other advice: I should have scheduled a Lyft ahead of time... ended up waiting 45 minutes after they changed my driver 3 times!

Any other Zoners here already?

The LOLLO eagle has landed!  Rain?  What's that?  HA!  Rest up for your large adventure.

Welcome to NY.

Da fuck you lookin' at?

Posted a pair of balcony tix in the ticket folder if anyone is still looking. See ya tomorrow night....

I am here and I will help take care of the boy toy

We may be early enough to catch the tail end of the to-do at McWhat'sits.

If not, look for the black guy who isn't Cap staff.  I'll be with him.  Pretty much DFC of the balcony (I think.  I should check that.) while the band is on.

He's seen the GD once (a pretty weak show) and The Q three times.

First time (Beacon '01), lights-up after Set 1, he blinks a couple of times and says, "THAT was impressive."

GentleLadies, Gentlemen .... fasten yer seatbelts. The ship is apart to depart.

Crew: strap in and prepare for takeoff

Car all loaded and ready to go..3 hr drive from here, GW looks like a mess so taking the Tappanzee (sp), safe travels everyone.

I have an errand to run for Mom in AM now, so may not make it to meet up...gonna try tho !

I have stickers, so say hi .

Cool, safe travels all... I added buffer seats (buffleheads?) to the McShane's reservations... so travel safe and join us at the pub... I walked by it yesterday and it looks fine, not too fancy, not too divey.

My photo essay from this morning's walk...

... I'm staying in an AirBnB room in a loft at the old Lifesavers factory!

nothing fancy, a minimalist place to crash and walking distance from CAP.

Rail riders are in line already....

Is anyone smart enough to find out how many times Phil has played the cap (70's and beyond)?

"The Grateful Dead first came to Port Chester on March 20, 1970, and since then, Phil Lesh has played 100 shows at the historic venue. Grateful Dead fans relish in the magic of the Grateful Dead experience at The Cap – community, passion, musicianship, and fearlessness".

From the Fans.live email I just got.

A nice round number.  Here's to 100 more.

If this is truly show 101 for Phil, the eleven would be fun.  My arithmetic to log in was also.

11,  OOOOOOO!

Very excited for everyone tonight. Can't wait till tomorrow

Dead base says the Grateful Dead played in Port Chester 16 times.  That means Phil played there another 84 times. Way to go Phil!

84 sounds high.

But it was on the Internet.  It must be truesmiley

He's playing 9 shoes in the next month . 84 is not that big. Don't forget Furthur

21 fucking years!

Spoke with a friend of Shap who said the 84 fig was correct ("I was here for every one of them") and started to reel off dates of significant show numbers.
