Quite The Storm ~ California

Happening now

I don't See Drought for Quite Awhile ! yescool

85 mph gusts in the Big Sur area

i'm watching the coast be pretty much overwhelmed. a century plus of mismanagement and over development is here.

I Agree Turtle ! The Over Development In The OC SUCKS !! no

i've had 1.4" of rain since midnight, and my power went out a little while ago. thanks to the backup battery i have computer for an hour or two, i can zone in the dark until that goes.

After getting battered with high winds all morning, we're pretty much soaked now where I'm at. So far, the temp has stayed a few degrees above freezing, and I'm hoping that won't change. I'm not really in the mood for a massive snowstorm.

Pretty wild here on the Marin coast....

Woke up to 5 foot section of fence blown down....later, two large limbs snapped

off a tree behind us, one landing on another section of fence, almost taking out the

phone a cable lines.....

Crazy day....power on and off all day.

....and BIG waves....

6-1/2 " here since Wed. Winds have not been that bad yet. Seem to be picking up right now.  House was 53 inside when I got up at 2:30 (PM). Got to 33 outside last night.

The rain it is howling and the wind is outrageous here at the Top of the Hill in Martinez!

Wow, I'll say it was just picking up. The winds have been @ 15-25MPH with gusts regularly into the 45MPH range.  In this house, 20 MPH sounds like a hurricane. Only thing I know of that Nellie is afraid of. When the soundtrack gets loud, she hides under my desk.

And we are at just under 8" of rain now(since Wed).

The weather station in my backyard  is worth the money.

That was another wild one. Drove from SF to Sacramento around 1 PM and missed the rain but the wind was howling, and huge tumble weed things not sure exactly what they were just randomly scattered in the lanes while everyone is doing 75. Was worried the Subaru was going to get pushed over a few lanes on the Bay Bridge.

Lost a couple of sections of fence but knew those were going to go soon anyway. Neighborhood looked mostly good this morning on the walk. Last years storm took out most of the really bad trees but still a few down here and there.

Miraculously the power stayed on here in Fairfax, but muchof Marin lost power last night

“Behold, He restrains the waters, and they dry up;
And He sends them out, and they inundate the earth.

Oh, the wind and rain;   Here's Sacramentos rainfall and wind observations, nothing out of LA / Oxnard yet

Weather Channel reported a 98 mph gust up on Loma Prieta above Santa Cruz.

Woz, my sister who lives in Fairfax hasn't had electricity since yesterday early afternoon and isn't predicted to get it back until 6 PM tomorrow. It sucks that her generator is not working.

From Lake Tahoe - NV:

Hahaha.  6-8 inches.  Palisades says 3.5 ft.  Where???

Gust of 102 on Tam in Marin.

89 mph at Point Reyes...

It was pretty wild yesterday, possibly the strongest winds I've seen in 30 years living here...

Bolinas got hammered, no power there, no power at a friends in Mill Valley....

A guy I know in Bolinas said he's been living there 60 years now and doesn't Ever remember seeing the ocean look like that...

"these crabbers are going to lose a bunch of pots at $125 each."

Watched the news last night. Yikes!
