i've had 1.4" of rain since midnight, and my power went out a little while ago. thanks to the backup battery i have computer for an hour or two, i can zone in the dark until that goes.
After getting battered with high winds all morning, we're pretty much soaked now where I'm at. So far, the temp has stayed a few degrees above freezing, and I'm hoping that won't change. I'm not really in the mood for a massive snowstorm.
6-1/2 " here since Wed. Winds have not been that bad yet. Seem to be picking up right now. House was 53 inside when I got up at 2:30 (PM). Got to 33 outside last night.
Wow, I'll say it was just picking up. The winds have been @ 15-25MPH with gusts regularly into the 45MPH range. In this house, 20 MPH sounds like a hurricane. Only thing I know of that Nellie is afraid of. When the soundtrack gets loud, she hides under my desk.
And we are at just under 8" of rain now(since Wed).
The weather station in my backyard is worth the money.
That was another wild one. Drove from SF to Sacramento around 1 PM and missed the rain but the wind was howling, and huge tumble weed things not sure exactly what they were just randomly scattered in the lanes while everyone is doing 75. Was worried the Subaru was going to get pushed over a few lanes on the Bay Bridge.
Lost a couple of sections of fence but knew those were going to go soon anyway. Neighborhood looked mostly good this morning on the walk. Last years storm took out most of the really bad trees but still a few down here and there.
Woz, my sister who lives in Fairfax hasn't had electricity since yesterday early afternoon and isn't predicted to get it back until 6 PM tomorrow. It sucks that her generator is not working.
