Radio City Rockettes Command Performance

Hello Mr. Roar;

MC / HNY !!

I have been to RCMH many times. In my youth, Grandma would take me there for the fabled XMAS shows and so forth.

Always an opener by the Organist, and then the Rockettes + a Movie. I'm certain that I saw "Herbie The Love Bug" and "1776" there. What a Coooool venue.

I did meet a retired Rockette Lady once in Oregon, maybe 2003 -> 2004. She was friends with my neighbor Abby, and did the famous Rockette high-kick dance steps at our place of libation. She Rocketted back in the 70's.

Of course we all had a few Good Beers.

Most of the dancers do not want to do it, their union has ruled full timers under contract must honor it, part timers are not bound

I expect a symbolic protest even if no one but them knows what it is.

Sitting here it is easy to say I would not do it but it would be tough to walk away from one of the best dancer gigs.

Also, I am not now, nor have I ever been, considered for a Rockettes gig.

A boy can dream..

Glad you are Aboard, Disco Stu.

The performance has been called off. No, that's not true. They're not being forced to perform.

Good. The majority of Americans need to be firm in not normalizing this situation so bizarre as to be beyond the pale.

I sure hope we make it through this time, and the Domocratic Party better get busy with major house cleaning, which sadly their establishment does not seem to grasp.

About one of the Grooviest RCMH performances I attended was the Easter Show.

The Rockettes were all out there on the Giant stage, but it was totally dark.

Black lights slowly came up and they all had white gloves that glowed.

So they did a Dance routine, but all the audience could see was the metropolis of dancing Gloves.

Eventually the lights got brighter, and all the Rockettes had Easter Bunny outfits.

It was pretty Cool laugh

Maybe around 1973-1974 ??

So cool you got to experience that as a young fellow.

Following up the post above... The Domocratic Party... Yeah, those fuckers!

i saw the Rockets and a movie on a school trip in second grade - this is circa ' 73 - the movie was the newly released Charlotte's Web on the HUGE screen - took my daughter to see the Xmas show around 2004 and had some serious hook up tix, 11th row center...finally got to gig on the big stage in 2010 and it was pretty cool to call my parents and tell them i was standing on the stage @ RCMH...picture is of the old lady backstage visiting me and John Oliver making his entrance as the host of the gig i did....DAWN RCMH_1.jpg
