I miss Ateix.

Most Zoners do.

Thanks. Nce heads up.

I just purchased 2 tickets for the 8:30pm- 9/30 show.

My father hasn't been to the Birdland since the 1950's.

Birdland is a great venue.

Huge Pharoah Sanders fan here.  Met him at the old Jazz Showcase club in Chicago one time.  He was really nice and, of course, cool- took pics with everyone.  Unfortunately, my camera was stolen before transferring the pics.  Still bums me out.

Wow Timmy Thanks so much for thinking of the HV crew !!!

However, I prefer driving over taking the train.

Last Train out of Grand Central is early....I hate missing the end of shows.

I bet you do too.

Did you make it to any of the Cali dates ???

I was hoping for a review.

I had a local friend years ago who had the great fortune to sit next to him on a cross country flight...amazing story

Hope that many get the chance to make it to the City for this epic run of shows !!!

Are these 45 minutes sets of mostly sax or all sax?

Thank you for that very important contribution to this thread, RRG.

Here's a rough tape of Pharoah Sanders playing with the Chicago Underground Duo in 2013

So, Timmy didn't make it ???

That's too bad. :(

Nope.  Being a dad requires giving up some things you like to do and making sacrifices.  I'm happy to do it so my kids grow up being loved, and turn out to be good people.

Sorry your dad didn't feel the same way.

Fuck You Timmy.

You truly are one big piece of shit LOSER.

dramp3_1.jpg

That's not very nice

i thought we were busting balls?  Wasn't that what your post today was for?

Maybe don't engage in activities that make you angry.

You all should start a band and call it the Talking Shitheads.

Ball busting isn't always as easy as it looks. Let that be a lesson to you amateurs out there.

Dave, will u start a stones cover band to open up for the talking shitheads with me?

ill b Keith, u got Jagger, deal?

The Busting Stones?

That would be a gas, E.

The Trolling Groans

Finally an opportunity to live my new found dream of wearing a headband, tuning a telecaster to open G and doing every substance I can get my hands on!

We might never get to hear RRG's great story about her friend sitting on an airplane now.

I hope you guys are proud of yourselves. Unbelievable.

E, you've never worn a headband or tuned a tele to open G?

I've seen him in a headband

And only done open G on an acoustic, so clearly it's all been leading up to this.

what era Jagger should Dave dress as?

It's not the same Birdland as the 1950's

Well, had my DNA scrambled and my soul purified by the work of Pharoah Sanders tonite. Amazing show.

Thanks for the reconnaissance mission and report back.

Bump for The Meanie Zonie Consideration

This would be a typical example of how those who throw shit but can't take it...then go for the gut punch post...roll.

You see, Timmy knew that my Father Committed Suicide when I was a child.

I opened up about it in the 80's cartoon thread.

(I later asked for that particular post to be removed, knowing that one day someone like Timmy would use it against me)

Guess what ?

I hope it's a HUGE statue.

RR6, you were trolling me and I am truly sorry you suffer from childhood trauma that still effects you to this day.  Also sorry for saying sorry.

The Mini Meanie Zonie goes to Latex, who doesn't troll, and posted this more than a month later as a nice little swipe at me in the Jambands thread.

I'm thinking maybe this is not the best time to ask you to tell the story about the time your friend rode a plane with Pharoah Sanders? I think you made mention of that before your last melt > exit stage left?

That one seemed like a real ripsnorter.

Do you got one for me? I'm a big meanie.

Pictures get painted. Details get filled in. People leave with impressions.

Here's a nice example of your good work here slacker...

Did I get Joe Coolio banned?

Joe Coolio was a zoner? Sweet!!!

that's a shame, I was hoping u woulda done that because u were originally seemingly attempting to use a very real and serious life situation, one worthy of deep respect and compassion, in a completely inappropriate, irrelevant, and belittling way to shame mark for taunting your wardrobe.

i sincerely hope you've undergone and continue to receive counseling for such a horrible tragedy that I felt robbed of the opportunity express my honest and deepest condolences for.

cause, u know, we probably shoulda been talking about how much the snorks sucked or something at the time.

love, light and healing to u, RRG.

no trollmo.

E and his softer approach.

I tend to b the slightly more compassionate voice of reason amongst the younger set around here if u haven't noticed

Are you kidding?

Not only have I noticed it, this is not the first time I have pointed it out.
