Recommend A Good Tequila

Forums:

Want To Pick Up A Bottle Tomorrow For The Weekend / SuperBowl  - much Thanks.

For sipping? For shots? For margaritas?

Lots of folks have good opinions on this. Personally, I like Herradura Reposado for sipping/shots. Around $40 in most stores.

I don't like margaritas, but if I'm not mistaken it's better to use a Blanco for those.

Turtle's Paradiso looks good, if a bit pricey. I may have to splurge one day and try that one.

I've always liked this one, and not just for the cool label... they make the 3 typical varieties....

Patron silver, limes and ice.

Hurradurra also nice.

Exotico not bad after the expensive stuff is gone.

I second the El Tesoro ! I usually go Blanco and I like mine in shots. Lesh is more.

cheap and good, cazadores silver.

casa nobles, casa migos

thumbnail_IMG_4208_0.jpg I'm not a drinker but this went down smooth with no salt or limes.

For Margaritas - Dulce Vida Blanco (cost effective)

For Texas Ranch Water - Gran Centenario Reposado (cost effective)

For Sipping - Avion 44 Reserva Extra Anejo (ideally, if someone's gifting a bottle or buying a round)

Gran Centenario Anejo is reasonably priced and really good.

Costco's Anejo Is very reasonable and has a creme soda flavor that I am still up in the air about.

got a bottle of El Jimador for $11 yankee dollars when I was in Aqua Prieta

Since you asked, i do have opinions / expertise  (advice?-?)

FORTELEZA  all of them are around 90 points  - which is very high for Tequila - never seen over 92 point ratings for any tequilla  - no bs marketing sh"t  - there are 4 Fortelezas in the top ten for sure - i love still strength a 91 pointer and also  the winter blends which are rarer

all of them are a superior product and at a great price point - not the cheapest, but the best deal --- sip and savor

for education and reviews of over 2480 brands go here  for "board certified" testers / rating experts, and humans

tequilamatch.com  >>downloading the app on your phone is a big aide when shoping

i have literally well over 50 bottles, with 40 unique ones  - I do buy (way) more than i sip i suspect....... Rosarito has a grocery store I like with over 2,000 choices + old town in san diego, K&L wines ( Azul has a $19 liter that makes a fine margie_  ( pairs well with DNB concerts!!!!!!!)   total wine and more is not a bad spot also

i do have some $20 favorites for margaritas   - i prefer 2 part tequila, one part brandy, one part cointreau, 4 parts simple limeaid -- rocks   -----no salt ever / perhaps a tiny lime slice

Tommys Mexican restaurant  in SF has an amazing collection fwiw  - have been with the happy rainbows fellow and picked up some rare ones ( from the "cellar")

without shows my consumption is way down...  need me some DAVID NELSON BAND - hell even Phil might do......

Can't go wrong with Hornito's

1842 if you want to splurge.  When you taste you will know where the money went

1942 is way overpriced

Oops 1942.  Yes pricey but very good in my opinion.

Tequillollo has a good suggestion with Chamucos.
Corralejo Reposado is pretty good

A new Zoner nickname? I'm honored, LOL.

I recently had a well-made margarita (sitting outdoors at a neighborhood restaurant's picnic table wrapped in a zippered plastic bubble) for the first time in months... yummy and weird in the same moment.

My favorites are a nicely aged tequilas (Anejo) - I like the ones with a hint of vanilla - Casa Noble, El Charro and Tierras are some of my favorites.

Went With

CasaMigos   Reposado

Does anyone remember 77 Sunset strip?

As many of you may have surmised I have an illness

And just counted 77 bottles of agave juice thank God I haven't drunk them all

I wonder how much effort it would be and how much it would cost to enable taking pictures from my phone and easily post them on viva

 then I would've taken pictures

I certainly would be willing to kick in on expenses to make that happen
