Which ones do people prefer?

looking for small, splash-proof, no distortion at high volumes, longest charge for $100 or so...

reading reviews, JBL 3 and Bose rate high

Never had one, so not sure how long they last?

I have one of these.  Works great, is small, and splash proof.

I keep it charged and have never had to test how long it goes before needing to be recharged.

Bose knows.

Kilpsch 2.1

Fugoo

I would spend a little extra and go with Sonos. You can keep adding to the system and eventually have a system that is multi sourse, multi zone, and performs better than bluetooth crap. Draw back is that it does have a wire th a t plugs into electric outlet, which I guess you want some type of battery type power

Good reviews on the buckshot and good price!

klipsch a little more $$

what model fugoo?

there are a bunch

thanks all, for input

My clients have Sonos wired into their home - sweet

may just go with buckshot at $40 and give it a whirl

most of the people who reviewed it, take it mountain biking

so it must be pretty ruggef

if it breaks or gets stolen on trip

who cares!

Bose.

JBL Charge 3

The Bose Color Soundlink is a good sounding speaker for just around $100. I'm not sure if it's splashproof or not, as I typically just use it around the house/yard. Sound is typical Bose goodness.

Klein speaker electrical tool manufacture from Klein

Fugoo is nice if you are more active person.

Harmon Kardon is on sale & is a really nice option! ($190 regularly $450)

Great speaker

Hey RO  - we have both the Bose and the Harmon Kardon - the girls use the Bose, the HK is mine for the road...they both work well and hold a charge for quite a while

I got one of the $99 JBLs a few years a go and it's still cranking today.

JBL Pulse. Been happy with it. Not waterproof though.

There is a JBL that is.

Really like that Buckshot.

I tend to stick to jbl (same company as Harmon kardon). The current one is flip 3  I think. waterproof, smallish, decent bass, heavier than it looks (that's the bad). Left it in the garage for a week of plus 100 and it remained fully charged. Option to use aux jack.

Thanks for all the input!

I have had my Bose soundlink for 5 years now. It still rocks. Battery is holding up well so far

Got some Greece info

no car needed

cabs are shady

Public transportation is easy

south eastern islands are fun take the ferry

Awesome - I appreciate you asking him!!!

will do a read on Kefalonia

its been tough to decide which islands to hit

we have a little JBL deal we got for free. its purty good. dunno model.

I picked up a JBL clip at a pawn shop for 20 bucks.  Waterproof, rugged, no distortion.  It plays fairly loud but other JBL's go louder.  It has a built-in caribiner which is huge plus.  You can hang it or attach pretty much anywhere.

$20?!

sign me up!

The clip is great but really small with commensurate bass sound. Def a time and place for it, but fair warning if sound matters to you. No distortion, sound is true but a little limiting. Depends on what you are listening to and what your size/weight requirements are. The flip is the middle size job, much bigger than the old jbl that I seem to have lost. I think charge is the larger one.

Another small option is oontz angle by Cambridge Works. Cheap, light, small. I use one at work where I listen to a lot of soul, funk, jazz, bluegrass, and it handles it well, sounds better than the recent clip I think but ymmv. Mine is a few years old.

My friend makes these. Not cheap, but worth it, IMO.
I appreciate the storage space inside, as well as the auxillary charging jack, so you can charge your phone from it.
Sounds great too.

I ordered the buckshot; should have checked eBay first but we'll see how it works out
