Anyone out there suffer from this?
I've been tortured for about the last 5 years with it, it started after I had both hips replaced at the tender age of 48 (they were shot, degenerative joint disease). There have been no real organic causes and the med I was on (pramipexole) has pooped out. I always have done stretching and massage and hot baths have helped, but recently it's gotten so bad that I've spent entire nights twitching, kicking and clawing trying to deal. It's also now sometimes affecting my wrists (resless wrist syndrome? masturbator's cramp?!) BTW my new hips are great, I'm hiking and roller blading and having great bedroom encounteres and wouldn't go back in any amount of time.
Went to the doc yesterday and tried a new med (gabapentin) last night. WOW. Took a minimal dose and about an hour later I felt heavy, like my limbs were slightly melty and relaxed and slow. kinda like the feeling you get after a really hot bath or hot tub session, warm heavy relaxed comfortable. Went to bed and didn't perceive me twitching all night, spent an extra hour in bed cause I was a little groggy. Woke up and was slow to ramp up for the day but I felt like I had the best night's sleep in years.
I'm supposed to titrate up my dose as I see fit, I took 100 mg but maintenance doses are in the 900 to 1800 mg range!!!!!!!!! I can't imagine that and want to stick with the least amount possible.
Anyone else use gabapentin for anything? I understand the side effects are minimal, you don't build up a tolerence, and it doesn't actually metabolize so no liver load from it.
Wondering what your experiences have been with RLS and/or gabapentin.

My dad had some problems with
My dad had some problems with this to the point he stopped sleeping entirely. So I got him smoking weed for the first time in 40 years. He burns a doob before bed and sleeps 8 hours a night. CBD should work as well and it doesn't get you high just pain relief.

Magnesium glycinate usually
Magnesium glycinate usually takes care of it. 1000-1200mg a day split up throughout the day.
