Cannabis company Hexo Corp. says it is aiming to undercut prices in the illicit market with its new 28-gram product, that costs as much as one dollar less per gram than at a illegal dispensary.

Hexo says the product will be on sale in Quebec cannabis stores for $125.70 taxes included, or $4.49 per gram.

Now set the inflation calculator to 1980 and put in $40 and you get $124.64

A lot of the dispensaries around here boast of having "$3.00 grams everyday."   I am sure its last years outdoor harvest or something similar, but weed remains incredibly cheap and it put many growers out of business.

That comes out to $1.74 per gram ($15.40 per oz in 1980 prices).

IHEXO stock has been tanking for a bit now, well they all are but HEXO more than other pot stocks

I remember in the late 70's I think, when the first Columbian showed up in Fresno.  Small dark red buds. That was when we went from 10 or 15 dollar lids to 40.00 ounces.  You could get a quarter ounce for ten bucks.  We nicknamed that stuff "Cartoon Columbian".

That's the unsustainable 

A 40 ounce and a $40 ounce is a nice combo. Yo!

The weed sources returned to Mexico and the prices stayed the same. The way I recall.
