RIP Burt Bacharach

Forums:

Dude could write some good tunes.  Grew up with my parents always having the easy listening station on in the car, so his songs are a big part of my childhood.  Thanks for the music.

Herbal Dave for the win, LOL

I imagine my mom shed a tear for this.

I ripped a boatload of powder in the spring of 1990 at the Burt Bacharach Inn. East Norwich Long Island.

This is by far my most memorable memory of the man. RIP.

That bit in "This Guy's in Love with You"..."I need your love" then the little riff?

Had been playing nonstop in my brain for three days.

And leave it on I guess.

some pretty iconic songs, RIP.

It's funny how those songs have gone from Musak to something much more sinister. Listen to the beginning of I Say A Little Prayer and all I can see Samuel L Jackson standing in the silent after math of a shot up car dealership with blood dripping from the walls and that song playing in the background from the over head loud speakers. I guess we can blame Tarantino for that.

I also had no idea a bunch of acts covered this tune before that band.  I also could not have named that band for moneysmiley.  Or named another song they released.
