Rest In Peace, the pure love that was Gloria will echo throughout human existence. She was as part of this scene as anyone, always positive and always exuding pure love for the revolution of consciousness. Towards the end, Jerry Garcia Band was as vital to this movement as anything, you could look around on east coast Jerry tour and see the 300 people that were at every performance, Gloria knew you, she & Jackie were in many ways a cornerstone of this revolution.

Once at The Warfield, I lost my sneakers dancing in the aisles . So after the show I went outside and ran into Gloria being picked up in a car. I stood there barefoot and smiling ear to ear, told her: "You're such a great Jerry-ette!" She smiled, thanked me, and got into the car...Ah the memories...

She used to be Marc Bolan of T. Rex's girlfriend and was the one behind the wheel in the crash that killed him. He told her to take her hands off the wheel and drive the car by astral projection. That didn't work out so well.
Always loved seeing her with Jackie LaBranch bringing the deep Soul to the JGB.

She will deff be missed i got to meet her a few times bout 15 years ago for a dozen or so shows. Its a real shame the way Melvin and JGB is now Melvin and Friends. The shouldn't even call it JGB. Zach is such a stooge imo just terrible, dude has zero songs of his own and is just doing what so many others do. Treats people up here who LOVE him like garbage, college kids and such. We have tons of stories. No real members even in the band now, but Melvin. Call it what it actually is, it frustrates the hell outta me, and Im sure alot of you people as well. Shit, i never ever saw the actual JGB, and dream, literally have had vivid dreams of seeing them.

I had never heard the Marc
I had never heard the Marc Bolan/Gloria Jones story before I saw the post above and then started reading up on it with "our" Gloria in mind. Was thinking "damn, Jerry worked with some crazy people."
If you Google "Gloria Jones," one of the first things that pops says:. "Musical groups: .T. Rex (1973-1976), Jerry Garcia Band (1984-1995).
