RIP JOHN HURT

Forums:

What a performance in Elephant Man, and just a great "under the radar" actor...

RIP

Don't forget his bust-out performance in Alien.

(Sorry)

I love the movie Rob Roy.

RIP

He was a good actor and will be missed. RIP John Hurt.

Sir John Hurt

Harry Potter and Dr. Who as well

Can't forget Midnight Express. RIP

The War Doctor

Winston Smith, Adam Sutler, Henson's Storyteller, Professor Broom, Mr. Ollivander, and so many more.

Rest in peace, John Hurt

Broadcast news, good flick

When you think about his role in "Alien", he actually did not have to perform throughout the entire length of the film, although the special effects had to be quite time-consuming.

I would bet he got a pretty decent rate per hour, all things considered.

RIP JH.

Anyone remember The Hit?  That one left an impression.

Then there's the now topical 1984.

Rest in Peace, Mr. Hurt.

1984 has returned to bestseller list

Another opportunity for me to strongly recommend "The Limits of Control" in which Hurt plays the character called Guitar.

The mid-eighties "1984" was filmed in and around London at very close to the same time-frame the original novel took place.

An earlier version of the film was shot many years back, which actually was pretty cool.

Loved his portrayal of Control (however small) in Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy..
