RIP Paul Dianno, Original Iron Maiden singer

The OG

Dude lived a hard life.  Was banned from the US and spent the last few years singing on stage in a wheelchair.  RIP.

Absolutely loved his stuff with Maiden.

why was he banned from US?  don't really know much about him.

>>>>why was he banned from US?

Assaulting a girlfriend with a knife, drug offenses, the usual stuff.

Never liked post Dianno Maiden

except for some of Number of the Beast

I'll be seeing Derek Riggs on Monday, maybe I'll bring these along

Number of the Beast is Bruce Dickenson

those first two Maiden records got me into metal at around age 12.  freakin fantastic!

Steve Harris is a god

kinda like Phil but different

I agree, Steve Harris is unreal

>>>Steve Harris is a god

Yep.  The real leader of the band and principal songwriter.  One of the better bass players in rock and the master of the galloping bass lines.   Saw him last Monday and dude looked like he hasn't aged a bit since the 1980s.

I'll be at Newark Maiden show in a few weeks

I was pricing out a copy of the Maiden Japan live EP today.  It was Paul Dianno's final work with Iron Maiden.  I also learned that there is a Venezuelan edition with much different cover art depicting Eddie decapitating Paul.
