Anyone in the NY area who listens to WFUV knows who Rita Houston was. She passed away today sadly after a 6 year battle with cancer. Rita was a champion of new music, and a self-proclaimed DeadHead. She was the head of programming at WFUV and had a weekly Friday night show called The Whole Wide World which showcased new music, while paying homage to the classics. A true NY original-she will be missed.
