The original 007 and still the greatest. RIP.

“He pulls a knife, you pull a gun. He sends one of yours to the hospital you send one of his to the morgue... THATs the Chicago way!”

Most bad ass Scotsman since William Wallace.

Agreed, Ken

Scotland's First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said: "I was heartbroken to learn this morning of the passing of Sir Sean Connery. Our nation today mourns one of her best loved sons.

"Sean was born into a working class Edinburgh family and through talent and sheer hard work, became an international film icon and one of the world's most accomplished actors. Sean will be remembered best as James Bond - the classic 007 - but his roles were many and varied.

"He was a global legend but, first and foremost, a patriotic and proud Scot - his towering presence at the opening of the Scottish Parliament in 1999 showed his love for the country of his birth.

Five years ago

The SNP leader said she sought advice from the former James Bond star about how to project her voice in the run up to the 2015 General Election.

...she said she had never employed an official voice coach, but said she had enjoyed sharing vocal tips with the 84-year-old Scottish actor.

She said: “I’ve never had a voice coach but I am about to name drop horrendously here, I did once get some advice on how to project my voice from Sean Connery which was lovely. It’s all about where you breathe. That’s my claim to fame.”

Alex Trebek for the win.

RIP, Sean Connery. He was one of the few that start off great and just kept getting better.

Shaken not stirred.

First movie I saw in a theater was "Thunderball"

World's a bit emptier today.

RIP Sean.  Enjoyed all the Bond 007 flicks,  and he was great in latter-day ventures as well.

As usual I can't recall the Title,  but there's one where he's in the Rain Forest researching some Bugs for a Pharmaceutical cure,  and the PharmCo. sends in some other Botanist Lady...

That was a good one.

Owww bummer - great guy- one of the best . r-i-p. - Thunderball - my first also - still a favorite.

My favorite was when he played Indiana Jones' dad.

he had a good run

Pussy Galore: My name is Pussy Galore.

James Bond: I must be dreaming...

RIP

man, lotta heavy hitters retiring this year. RIP

I watched The Untouchables the other day for the first time since it came out.  He was great in that.  Loved the scene where he gets killed.

His yamsack drags through God's brambles now.

Finding Forrester was a great movie.

RIP!

he was fine with hitting women.

He thought it was okay to hit women. There is a special place in hell for him

Alot of people throughout history whose art I still admire made questionable decisions or beliefs I don’t share.

judgement runs deep.

What?  Folks are ripping him.

 >>>>Folks are ripping him.

Surprised it didn't come up sooner.  Sir Sean did say in an interview once that women need to be smacked around once in a while or something to that effect.  Don't know if he beat up either of his wives, but Bond did smack around a few women in the earlier films.  Terrible thing to say nevertheless.

As noted above, a lot of famous artists and musicians had their dark side.   John Lennon used to be cruel to his women and Jimi Hendrix and Bill the Drummer were also known domestic abusers.  Eric Clapton and Elvis Costello said some very nasty racist things. Jimmy Page had a thing for underage girls, Jerry Garcia was an absentee father and junkie, etc.

Surprised it didn't come up sooner.<<

Right? It's a rip Sean Connery thread.
