R.I.P. Sinead O'Connor

Forums:

News just coming in.

Blazed her own path.

Shine on.

I really loved her album Throw Down Your Arms

RIP

not my kind of music, but 100% my kind of attitude

I saw her once with Peter Gabriel in GG park

I'll play Marleys War

Much too young, but not too surprising after the often tortured existence she lived.

RIP Sinead.

Wow that sucks. Saw her the first time on the Lion and the Cobra tour at the Boston Orpheum. One of the best shows I have ever seen.

Fuck the people who booed her at the Dylan 30th Anniversary in MSG, because she tore up the picture of the Pope a few weeks before on SNL. She was way ahead of her time.

56 sure seems young.

I was never a fan, like most knowing her from her one rather odd hit, the SNL bit and her strange public persona, but then I saw her at some festival and she & her group blew me away. It was creative, complex, dark but groovy, and she was really good herself.

It really surprised me.

Just goes to show, you don't ever know, unless you go to the show.

On it goes.

I read recently that she has been suicidal since her sons death, and it saddens me that this would be made public but that's our world

steve earle spoke quite eloquently the other night about losing a child and how it creates a hole in the floor of your life that you have to tiptoe around for the rest of your days

ram dass said the enduring pain felt by the loss of a child is the legacy of the departed

Now the press can fawn over her after a lifetime of vilifying her

 she was right all along

Nice interview on the Arsenio Hall show. Agree with almost all she says

56 is my age now

heartwrenching

and agreed at any media who shamed her in life then praised her in death can fuck off
