RIP Steve Harris - Cubensis Drummer

Forums:

Beloved Cubensis drummer STEVE HARRIS passed away Sunday, February 12th, 2017, after a courageous and prolonged battle with cancer. He was 49 years old.

Steve played drums and sang for Cubensis for 22 years until his illness forced him to the sidelines. His vocal prowess was remarkable, and many people referred to him as the "heartbeat" of the band.

Steve left behind 2 children, sizeable medical bills, and funeral expenses.  He also left many musical memories for all of us.  His family would really appreciate the support from our musical community.

Please show your support by making a donation of any size. We know Steve will be Grateful in Death and Not Forgotten!

In addition to funds raised here, we are dedicating all our Cubensis shows this weekend (2-17 to 2-19) to Steve's memory, beginning Friday Feb. 17 at the Golden Sails Hotel in Long Beach, CA. The entire night's proceeds will be donated to Steve's family.

Vibes to {{{Cubensis Family}}}

Ouch.  He was good people.  Rest easy brother.

Also, condolences to Mark D.  I know you guys were real close.

Thanks Turts and Hoovs. Yeah, he was my brother.  He is painfree now.

Gonna be a rough show Friday night at the Sails.

Thanks Zooey for posting this.

I only met him once but he was just one of those guys that was just an instant friend.  Same way I felt when I met Turtle, or Furious E, or Mark D.  That's one of the coolest things about the deadhead dynamic IMO.

Sorry to hear this.

Hugs to you, Mark.

Rest easy Steve... and best to you Mark.  I wish I could make it down this weekend but it's my wife's bday... i'd love to hook up soon. that goes for you other so cal peeps. Spring is springing...
