Roger Daltrey is doubtful The Who will 'ever come back to tour America'

when the the first final tour again?

78?

I think it was 1982,

I saw them in 79 and that wasn't the final tour

Maybe don't tour with an orchestra

Right?   Saw them this past fall and thought the orchestra sucked.  Worked for a handful of songs like Tommy Overture and the Quadrophenia stuff, but was otherwise overblown and out of place.   They used mostly local musicians, but still had to drag around a conductor and a couple lead players, along with the already overstuffed rock band.

Or a video of their dead drummer

Was it really The Who after Keith Moon died?  I've seen and enjoyed them with Kenney Jones and Zak Starkey, but it never quite measured up to the original.  Hard to believe that Keith was only 32 when he checked out.  What The Who recorded in those 14 years from 1964-1978 is amazing.

I am OK with this.

The Two to retire.

Who cares?

We have Billy Strings to sing to my generation anyways

Take a bow for the new revolution

After this painful Super Bowl performance I pretty much checked out on The Who.

It's pretty much 'The Roger Daltrey Band featuring Pete Townshend' at this point anyways. The stage is baffled to hell and Zak plays some kind of electronic drums, all for the benefit of Roger. There's also a couple of instances in the show where he uses a backing track (the screams in Won't Get Fooled Again, and Love Reign O'er Me).

There was a time when this would've meant something to me. Not anymore.

One time Kieth on a bender in New Orleans roaming the city heard music coming from a bar.

Walks into a "colored bar" with a band jamming.

Endears himself to the patrons and the band and gets to sit in.

After a rousing set he did his smashing the drums act, except they weren't his drums

after threats to his life he was able to escape alive exchanging wads of cash from his pocket

Good.

I saw them last year in Boston, and honestly I thought it was the best they have ever sounded live.
Daltrey's voice is ridiculously good since his surgery.
The orchestral parts were cool as heck, and Katie Jacoby is amazing, dynamic, beautiful, etc.

I figured I could never afford to see the Who, I had been browsing ticket prices.
I logged in the day before the show, took a look, and suddenly all floor seats had become $35.
I didn't question, scooped up 2, center aisle 7th row. I kept checking, and the $35 price stood for maybe an hour.
A couple hrs later, they were back up to $350 or whatever.
This is the story of my one Ticketmaster WIN.
