Roger Waters in the round - seating advice

Forums:

Caught Roger at the Knickerbocker on Wednesday. As always, quite the spectacle. Great show.

If anyone is still evaluating tickets, I recommend the sections that are kitty corner to the center of the stage. Each of the four quadrants has a wrap-around screen. If you're too aligned with either the middle or end, you're watching two screens, which is a bit of an overload. The corners offer a focused view on a single quadrant.

I'd also recommend being at least 20+ rows up so that sight level is even with the bottom of the screens (that sit about 15 feet above the stage). Otherwise you're looking up all night. See the red zones below for what I would consider the premo seating areas for this tour.

Thanks Much! I plan on attending @ LA or Vegas

Good info, although I find it a bit sad that the main points for optimum seating for a live concert are how well one can view the video screens.

I get that's a big part of his shows, I just usually find all that to be distracting.

I'm gonna' play my "old guy" card and say that I thought it was all better when there were just some red lights, some blue lights and some spotlights, and how it SOUNDED was the most important thing. (Although ironically, live sound is generally so much better now than it's ever been, while more & more of the attention is on all the ancillary lights & video crap)

Anyway, I've never been a fan of in-the-round so I chose to pass on this one when I heard it was that.

But that's just me. Roger Waters is fucking great, and especially if he's on anyone's bucket list he MUST be seen once. Even if you spend most of the night watching video screens.

GTTS!

Now you tell me. Anyway I'm sure it will be good. Last in the round show for me was Yes and that was a looong time ago. Glad to see this show is finally getting closer. I hope it doesn't get canceled again when it comes my way in September.

I saw the show weds I'll post a chart in a minute here

I'd sit in the East green lower level. He does the Wish you were here material from this catwalk Def do not go for floor "corners" you will miss a lot... the Two Suns may have been the most heartbreakingly beautiful song I've seen performed in a long time

We did a corner in Boston, 4 rows off the floor. It was perfect, and not too low to enjoy the amazing screen action.
Sound & visuals were amazing, easily among the best shows on earth, ever.

I meant the corners in close to the stage. Worst seats in the house. Listening to that Boston show on headphones tonight, sounds wonderful

Roger has flipped the script. The best seats for visual and AUDIO is in the 200's and 300's. The speakers are clearly pointing up.  Buy a 50 ticket and get a better shoe than a 300 dollar one.

My only criticism; there is no need intimacy with the musicians.  It's like they're in an orchestra pit that they move out of there occasionally.  Doesn't diminish their obvious talent and dedication to the music.

If you don't like politics mixed into your night of entertainment then, don't go.  You'll have a much miserable time

Long Live The Grateful Dead

I wouldn't pay a dime to see this anti-semitic MFer.

I'd pay lots to see this Palestinian supporting mutherfucker

I support a free world for everyone, including Palestine

The creative vision and execution on this tour is really inspiring. From the apocalyptic beginning to the behind-the-curtain finish, it's absolutely engrossing.

Sean Evans is the creative director, same guy behind the most recent Wall production.

Anti-Nationalism is not Anti-Semitism. Quite the opposite.

For what it's worth, ticketbastard now adjusts prices by demand.
I watched all of the cheaper seats slowly sell thru for Boston, while many of the pricier ones did not.
I waited until day before show to buy.
We got seats that were originally $356 when I first looked, for $161.

I know each arena is different, and Boston is quite small comparatively, but the sound was truly amazing.
The speaker arrays had more of a curl downward, rather than exclusively facing outwards.
The creative director is a fucking genius.

And yes, Fish, 2 Suns in the Sunset was crushingly powerful. Vaporization at our doorstep.
