Saw my nephew walk for the first time yesterday!

Forums:

Some of you may know my nephew Aaron had childhood cancer and a brain tumor.  Went to my brother's house and Aaron is now fully mobile without the use of a walker.  He will be six on January 1.  This is huge and it was amazing to see how far he's come.

Here he is with Rizzo and his mother.

That’s sweet, Sarah.

your brother looks young, or do you have more than One? I recall Lulu  talking your brother a while ago. Good to see him looking healthy.

Awesome

Go Aaron!

What are you talking about, nanzi??  You're very misinformed.  Lulu doesn't know my brother.  She also never posted about him here.  That's Anthony Rizzo you busybody.

Sweet sweet Sarah, yes Lulu chatted with me about your brother. Was just asking if you had more than one. Try and keep this thread civil. Anthony? Don’t know who that is. anyhow, continued healing to the nephew and thanks for sharing the good news here

Lulu has never met either of my brothers.  You're delusional.

Great news! Here's to continuing recovery and progress for the little guy.

Way to go, Aaron!

This is terrific news, Sarah! I'm so happy you got to see him and that he's making such strides in his abilities. Big smile here.

(((making such strides)))

Wonderful news!

Thanks for sharing, 4winds

Thanks everyone!  He is a special little guy.  We really don't know what the future holds.  He doesn't talk yet, but can understand some sign language.  Aaron loves music although he has very discerning taste.  The piano guys, a couple of Phish songs, Justin Timberlake, Israel Kamakawiwo'ole.    He's also a big fan of action movies with fight scenes.

That's great news!

Forgot to add he has man bun sometimes.  His parents really don't cut his hair they're like Samson's locks to them.

That. Is. Huuuge.    Wish you all well.    Get your hands round that lions jaw and rip that beast Aaron!!!

That is excellent 4winds!

Happy for you guys.

Nancy can't help herself from trolling Sarah, even on a thread like this. SMH.

Congrats 4winds.

Oh my God!

(((Aaron)))

Great news

God bless your nephew and prayers for continued progress Sarah.

double post

More Blessings

Wonderful to hear. Hoping for continued progress.

Aaron made the front page of the Daily Herald back in April.

Fantastic Man Bun!!!

Aaron had a seizure at school yesterday and he's in the hospital.  Just saw him over the weekend.  They are running some tests.  We're all supposed to go to a wedding this weekend.  Praying that he's okay.  He was scheduled to have an MRI in December.

((((((Aaron))))))

Well wishes for on of the cutest kid I have ever seen.

best thoughts and wishes to you and your fam 4...

Thanks.  He is making a lot of progress and this is not good.  At least it happened in front of someone.  Imagine if it happened at night.  He's had NED (No Evidence of Disease) for quite some time.  His big brother just turned eight on Sunday.  Harsh reality.  Feel awful for Aaron and my brother and sister-in-law.

Sending love and hoping for the best.

Oh, 4winds, I'm hoping for the best. That sweet little boy, his parents and brother, you... this is scary stuff. I hate this shit.

Much love and hope for his well-being.

Hoping for the best.

(((Aaron)))

Man, sorry to hear about that.  My autistic nephew is plagued with seizures and every other imaginable malady.  It seems like life has it out for some of these kids...though they take it all in stride while we sit and cry 'WHY?'.

Kills me to hear, see kids dealing with these kinds of issues.   Wishing your nephew and your family the best Sarah

((((Aaron))))

4W I am really really so sorry to hear this.  NYCED gave me the head’s up and sends his best, as do I.  )omg that sounds too formal)

Big love and huge vibes and lots of prayers your family’s way.  ❤️❤️❤️.  This has got to be so scary.  And happy birthday to your other nephew.

Thanks again for the well-wishes everyone.  Hi, ED.  We may know more this evening or tomorrow.

Sucks for the kid to be dealing with seizures, Sarah. Fwiw, my nephew had seizures for years till they figured out that they were triggered by environmental factors, including blue dye No. 2 (in Gatorade and also cake icing) and the glues used in carpeting. The docs had the kid on all sorts of meds, and even suggested brain surgery to eliminate the seizures. I know, every case is different. Just was shocking to see how quick the docs are to pathologies seizure disorders and reluctant to look at underlying environmental causes. hope your nephew is doing better.

Something to think about although he doesn't drink Gatorade.  He is a patient at Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago which is the best in the city and nationally ranked.

All the best to Aaron and your family Miss Sarah.  What a sweet looking kid.  Hang in there young man.

(((Aaron)))

sending my best to Aaron and your entire family and hoping for some really good news.  Sometimes life is just so effing unfair.

Thanks, Aaron is home now.  Doctors think it might be from scar tissue related to his surgery.  May swing by there today.

Kind and healing thoughts headed east. Best to all, Sarah.

All the best. I hope things are going better for everyone.

The little man is still happy.  Aaron and his mother.
