Seattlites Getting A Little "Rain-gry"

Forums:

The rain comes with the territory up here.  The trade-off is that while other regions out west brown out in the Summer, it stays lush and green here.  That said, this has been a brutally gloomy Late-Fall through Wiinter 5 month stretch, and the Vitamin D deficient natives are getting restless:

I thought I had enough of 3 month stretches of rain/fog when I moved from Humboldt to the east coast. It was then that I realized rain for months on end still beats the shit out of shoveling snow and paying outrageous heating bills.

We got the best of both worlds this winter - months of gloom and rain punctuated by a series of winter storms that dumped over a foot of snow and ice on the city that is ill prepared for winter weather.   Worst winter in the 17 years I have lived here.   There was a rare brief sun break yesterday afternoon, but this morning it was back to rain.

My sympathies to PNW zoners.

Rain, clouds and dreary? This morning, when I walked the dog, it was -3 and snowing. The wind was blowing at 25-35 from the north, with wind chills at -35. It hasn't warmed up more than a degree or two.

Are you Maine-gry, Brian?

We had margaritas on the patio last night.

Wah wah wah.

move back to California then whiners.

You don't speak for me or my city javadave.

Enjoy those margaritas, Turtle!  I'm drinking Porters in this weather.

JR, I was speaking neither for you nor our city.  I was merely sharing the blog of one of our local meteorologists.  It's too bad you feel a need to act so uncivil.  May I suggest some Vitamin D? :)

I take 10,000-15,000 IU of D3 a day. My levels are in the optimal range.

That's a massive amount of vitamin D. Are you supplementing K2 as well?

Today was "perfect" weather here in the East Bay.  Spring cleaning was on tap and I feel well accomplished.  Had a couple 21st Amendment IPAs and am showering up, ready to take the kids to sushi and Lego Batman.  Only miss was not driving out to the clubhouse for happy hour yesterday...

I love Seattle but moved back to CA for a reason.

Happy Saturday Viva-zoners!

No K2.

About 6 years ago I was tested for B12 and D3. My baseline levels were close to 0 for both.

Two months ago I was retested. The doc said that I'm one of the few people she's ever seen that has "perfect" D3 levels. They also tested for the B12 marker in the blood, the one that shows the real levels rather than inflated levels due to the supplement. That was also perfect.

Yay me.

buncha light weights... time to move away if you no likey the rainy....

S'posed to be sunny and in the 60s today here.
