September 83

Forums:

What a great month of shows. Was just thumbing through Deadbase50(again) and was reminded of this great run of shows.

Tomorrow its back to the tapes....hopefully they help with the work stress.

To much travel. Give me a MSG or Boston Garden run instead.

wasn't traveling for these, i was 6yo when those took place. To my ears,  a great month of GD.

i'll get back to you on a msg or bg run...top of my head, 90s something

brought back h/s/f. good stuff.

That mountain-west tour drips with energy. A one-time time machine would take me to THAT tour.

Grass Valley and Watsonville.

April of '83 shows were dynamic, highlighted with the Broome County, and Stephen Stills  NJ shows. Jerry gained some serious weight from 12/82 to 4/83. Phil too. Everything was too big and chunky.

Things were on fire at SPAC '83.

Lake Placid 10/17/83 was legendary!

Lake Placid was insanely fun.

Some of my footage from LP was used for the GD doc.

Oh yeah. Great stuff peak15.

Merriweather. Yowza!

And Santa Fe......

I went to many many shows in 83 and I thought it was a GRATE year for shows and touring.

Hampton, Lake Placid, Binghamton, University of Vermont, Brendan Byrne, The Garden, Hartford, Spac, Merriweather all come to mind off the top of my head and I'm sure there are more.

Lots of great east coast shows that year.

The jams were long and the tone was great.

we're talking September , Man

Park West or DEATH

My first show was not till '86 but September '83 is easily one of my favorite months of the Brent years to listen to since I discovered the Archive way back when. Lots of good audience recordings. Just listened to a great pull of 9/11/83 last week.

"We're talking September , Man"

I've evolved and expanded the conversation.
