One of my favorite places on the planet. But I don't think you can camp on that sand bar any more. The closer sand bar is Native American land to this day.

When you're planing garlic, you want to buy the largest bulbs of whichever variety you've settled on

Buy roughly 1.5-2X more than you intend on planting. This is sort of variety dependent

select only the largest cloves for planting. the size of the seed clove determines the potential size of the bulb it can produce

Use the culls for cooking or to make some garlic powder

This yrs garlic harvest.  Seed garlic will be shipped soon.  And yeah plant the biggest and eat the rest. But you still get some small ones.   I learn more about growing (and harvesting) garlic every yr.
