Forums:

I saw these guys on the Lockn webcast.

The Record Company. "Baby I'm Broken"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NqTCcEusdUU

Saw The Record Company a couple months ago and had a real good time. No standing still at their shoes.

Grateful Dead - U.S. Blues - 10/29/80 - Radio City Music Hall (OFFICIAL)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3uB_25Boz7o

Cool.

I'm still doing my homework and going through all of my "official" mixes (various artists) CD's.  Deciding which to keep and which to chuck.

Currently listening to KFOG Live from the Archives II (1995):

Round of Blues - Shawn Colvin

Walk on the Ocean - Toad the Wet Sprocket

Where'd You Hide the Body - James McMurtry

Ants Marching - Dave Matthews

Congo Square - Sonny Landreth

Yellow Moon - Neville Brothers

But Anyway - Blues Traveler

The Brother - Robben Ford

Planes & Satellites - Sonia Dada

Rainbow's Cadillac - Bruce Hornsby

Could I Be Your Girl - Jann Arden

Move Away Jimmy Blue - Del Amitri

Straylin Street - Pete Droge

I Feel So Good - Richard Thompson

Livin' on Borrowed Time - Charlie Musselwhite / Roy Rogers

Obviously a mixed bag, but it does remind me that I was still listening to the radio in the mid-nineties.

Got the day off and loving every musical second of Van Morrison's It's Too Late to Stop Now: Volumes II, III, & IV on CD. So fucking good.

Grateful Dead - 2.26.81 Chicago, IL Uptown Theatre

>>Walk on the Ocean - Toad the Wet Sprocket

Great song. I saw Glen Phillips in March and that was the encore

Dave & Phil Alvin - Lost Time (2015)

Nice, EB Fox.

Just noticed that there are tickets for Van at the Oakland Fox available.  Would be a bucket list show for me...

KFOG Live from the Archives 14 (2007)

Mixed CDs Of Ian McCulloch ! Really Good Stuff

Hey Jonny, we saw VM last year at the Fox. The Fox had just finished installation on their new sound system that particular night, and what better artist to test the new sound with than Van? Noooooooo pressure...lol. However, the shows were fantastic as well as the new sound system.

>>Mixed CDs Of Ian McCulloch ! Really Good Stuff

Nice!  Saw Ian at the Park West in Chicago years ago.  Was trying to figure out the date so I could see the setlist.

Now that I'm back at home, I've decided to listen to Robyn Hitchcock - Black Snake Diamond Role (1981)

This is making think seriously about seeing that show with Yo La Tengo.  Last time I saw him was at Bottom of the Hill, SF, solo acoustic. This album, with band would be a fun LIVE listen.

Beachwood Sparks - The Tarnished Gold

Beachwood Sparks’ Josh Schwartz Dead at 45

https://pitchfork.com/news/beachwood-sparks-josh-schwartz-dead-at-45/

he had ALS :(

That's very sad.  That explains why XM played that ^, on the way to dinner. He's new to me.

Thanks for the last 2 links.

they had two albums in the early 2000's on Sub Pop and then Tarnished Gold in 2012, think NYC Ed turned me on to them through one of these music threads.

Thanks for sharing the news, 4winds.  Just saw Beachwood Sparks perform a few weeks ago, obviously without Josh.

Strangely, I was listening to a song by Tift Merritt (Mixtape) on a Mointor This! comp.  Listening to it again and thinking of Josh.

From the article listed above, here's one song from Josh-era Beachwood Sparks's album Desert Skies, recorded in 1997 and released in 2013.
