Anyone else watching ?

yep. hooked on the 1st one & just watched the 2nd episode

Watched both last night w/ the old lady...love the feel and pace, much similar ( same director and cinematographers ) to Big Little Lies both the feel and the music cuts interstitially as well as the jumps through time.

HBO does summer pretty fucking swell

Just finished the book today. Not sure I'm ready for the show. It is a seriously dark story.

im intrigued and will keep watching. I hope it stays strong.  I have a bit of a hard time with her low voice though. And we get it, shes a drunk. Amy Adams is a producer of the show so she will work hard to make it work. I like her kinda creepy hometown drunk friend.

I’ve been watching Succession. My wife watched the first episode of Sharp Objects and liked it a lot.

I have to turn up my tv to like 40 to geR anything. Only complaint really. Has good potential

SPOILERS!

So  anyone watch the whole series and see the finale last night?   If so did you catch the clip during the credits?

I ended up enjoying it.

Yeah, a lot happened during the credits, I think. The series was good.

Not sure why they added that vital scene during the credits. Easy to miss if you don't stick around. Maybe the writers decided to add that later to clarify the ending - or to imply that Camille is unaware. Apparently it's all very clear in the novel...

Good Show, but I don't think they needed 8 episodes to tell the story. Dragged at times.

Thats what I heard, that the book took its time with the reveal.  It was a good atmospheric series.  I liked it overall.  BUT I had to stop and start that credit clip to see what was going on.  The last image they freeze at a point when Amma and her roller girls are strangling one of the girls. Amma's face is SOOO evil.  check it

I didn't read the book but assume it's always better.   A show is always going to have to cut things and re-edit so it's not surprising.

I only caught the last 2.5 episodes as my wife was watching it but thought the ending was plenty good and very haunting.   Good twist at the end.  I was definitely feeling like the arrest of her mom went down a little too easy and ten minutes later I knew why.

I like the sneak shots in the credits.   We're sitting there about to turn it off and then bam!   Good way to make you not fall asleep if you're watching late at night.

Gotta think HBO makes the best TV out there.   Is it even close?

Yeah Zang I think HBO does have the best truly original productions. Lately its been GoT, Detective, The Deuce for me.  But lets not forget how impactful shows like the Wire, OZ, S & the City (blecch), Sopranos etc. were to the whole original programming thing. Netflix is doing their best, other streamers/premium channels might have a show or two but HBO is still king.

I just looked at the list, I cant even list all the good stuff they have done.    https://www.hbo.com/series/all-series

oh and a strong nod to AMC. They have good series. Preacher is my fav right now.

check out Succession too.   It's a good one.

So, who killed her other sister? I assume it was Crazy Mama.

I saw scars on a young lady last week. They were hidden but her long skirt was tangled and there they were. Def not an accident. She was smiling so I hope the self harm was behind her.

Amma was a good actor.  She will be back.

Read the book and liked the show. Stayed very close. They did play out the reveal for a whilein the book. Just thought they were going to show how they could thrive without killer Mama. Great twists one the best in a long time.

I watched the first few episodes and just couldn't get into it. Generally speaking, I have a tough time getting into dark storylines unless they move at a faster pace. Thanks to the spoilers on this thread I don't have to put myself through watching the rest of the series (but might cheat and watch the last episode).

Fly-Preacher is a great show, I'm digging it even more this season than last.

))))RIH MeeMaw((((

"You dont hate me that much little Jesse"      My fav Preacher characters are Cassidy and Herr Starr (schwanzkopf).  With hitler and the St. of Killers not far behind.  I laugh so freaking hard during this series.   Garth Ennis (the author) is all over the production and it shows.  I cant wait for it to come back.

Amy Adams really excels here. The whole thing has a slight Twin Peaks / Fargo kind of vibe to it. Took me an episode or two to get into it, but I'm glad I stuck through.

Ugh, let's watch her ride around in her car for 2/3 of every episode, but we'll change the soundtrack for each show.  Then the ending is like a typical Steven King novel- 814 pages of buildup, 5 pages to wrap up the whole plot.

Ha.  That's funny.

She seemed to be drinking way more in  the early episodes. not sure if viewers developed a tolerance or she actually cut back.

The last episode made little sense. A lot of continuity issues. The way the cops just kind of arrived also made no sense. Also, the whole deal with Emma was just kind of mashed in at the end. Pretty bad, IMO.

The cops arrived with her editor, so I think he initiated that.

^Yeah, it wasn’t really well thought out and made zero sense. The cop knocked on the door at first as well. The editor went rushing in there from out of nowhere. A strange scene that was barely coherent. Poor direction for that last episode. I enjoyed the first 7.
