She Would Have Made A Great Zoner

Forums:

Found this little tidbit about Ethel Merman on her Wikipedia page:

Merman was notorious for her brash demeanor and for telling vulgar stories at public parties. For instance, she once shouted a dirty joke across the room at José Ferrer during a formal reception.[64]

While rehearsing a guest appearance on The Loretta Young Show, Merman exclaimed "Where the hell does this go?" Young, who was a devout Catholic, advanced towards Merman waving an empty coffee can, saying, "Miss Merman, you said the 'H' word! That'll be twenty-five cents." Merman quickly racked up several more infractions. In response to Young’s attempt for another quarter, Merman replied “Loretta, here’s ten dollars. Go fuck yourself.”

Fucking A'.

Classic. Thanks!!  Time isn't linear.  Good chance she was here.  Sounds familiar ;)  Hey, jaz!!!

 >>>>>Time isn't linear.

Well, it's mostly linear.

I liken it to a river. It doesn't always flow at the same speed, and there are actually parts along the edges where it might even flow backwards in a little eddy, but all the water (that doesn't evaporate) eventually gets to the sea.

"The shows are never the same, ever." ~ Jerry

"Sometimes they are remotely the same." ~ Bob

"Yeah." ~ Jerry

After shows at the Boston Orpheum theater they would crank Ethel Merman singing There's No Business Like Show Business with the house lights fully on. Always fun after a Jerry show.

My coffee can would runneth over.
