Sierra Ferrell

Forums:

Anyone besides myself here digging Sierra Ferrell? She has a really old-timey sounding voice and leans towards crooner old country, like 1940's to 1960's style. If you get a chance to see her perform live you should do it, tickets for this tour are very easy on the pocketbook, and you'll get more than your money's worth at that.

love her.  Seeing her and Nick Shoulders next month.

lol did Timmy just Emily me with a two year-old thread? It's funny, Tim, the only bad reviews I've seen weren't really reviews of her music but angry boomers who are mad she has a face tattoo/pierced nose.

Going to see her and Nick next month too, I'm very excite!

Yeah, I've been a Sierra Ferrel Stan for a while.

Sweet

Damn a Faron Young cover.

Just saw Sierra Ferrell has a double header with Billy Strings coming up, but it's in Iowa or some shit wtf

Great show on Sunday.  I think I was the oldest person there.  When did that happen?

Looks like she scraped her knees.

Thanks for the recommendation.

I came here to ask you how your show was, TH. Utah Jenn flew out here for the show and we road tripped up to Arcata to see her there. I don't think we were the oldest people there, haha, thankfully! Nick Shoulders had a lot of fans in the crowd who knew all the words to his songs. It almost seemed like most were there to see him open for Sierra. Sierra's set was fantastic, I like her tour band, but I missed Audrey and Nate. Rowdy college crowd, lots of boot stomping and chatter over the music, but all in all a fun time. I actually thought I saw you at Tomo before the show, but I guess big mustaches are really popular in Arcata now, like dreads used to be twenty years ago. We ran into Sierra the next morning at Los Bagels and she was still wearing her outfit from the night before and the flowers in her hair were all squished and wilted, but she was still really gorgeous and signed my cd for me. It was a fun trip!

Had a blast.  Gave Nick Shoulders a bottle of my hot sauce.  Crowd was chatty and we had a serial farter near us but the performance was top notch.  She's a born performer.

Saw her live for the first time in Chicago last night. Great show. What a voice! Yes, a born performer and a great talent. Missed Josie playing fiddle but Oliver did a fine job and added some tele color to a few songs. Sierra rocked some fiddle too.

I am a big big fan and hopeful for a New England show this summer, she is playing a fest in western MA but I think I would rather see her alone vs a short set at a festival.

I still miss Nate and Audrey! From what I've gathered Josie had a sudden hearing loss and was dealing with that, but I hope she's recovering her hearing. Oliver seems really into it, nothing wrong with a little electricity :D  Can't wait for May!

jklowan don't skip the festival!

Behold! Sierra at Del fest...holy fuck

A short set is better than no set at all.

Playing at the sound summit on mt tam sept. 9th

along with the reunion of brokedown in bakersfield !!!

Every time I tried to see Sierra last year, things happened that prevented me from doing so, until NYE. My wife & I caught her NYE show at Nashville Brooklyn Bowl, and it was a fantastic time
