I know these "all stars" have been playing for a bit, but I haven't had the chance to see em

Any thoughts?  Playing the Junc tomorrow and thinking about driving over the bridge

happy summer all

Fairly tough to find a band of more competent players than this

Saw them at the Lodge Room in LA recently and had a beautiful psychedelic experience. Obviously, its been tough recently with the passing of Donna, Phil and Bobby. My understanding of the premise of this band is that it is a way for Rob Barraco to perform songs live that he co-wrote with Robert Hunter. I'm pretty sure only one or two Dead songs were played at the show I saw. And frankly, it was refreshing to see a group of master musicians that understand the musical language of the Dead perform original material. They went into deep space in the second set and the jams contained phrases/teases and musical interplay that weren't tied down by the constraint of the composition of a Grateful Dead original. For me, it was reminiscent of a lot of the early years of Phil and Friends. I would highly recommend going to the show

Nice review, Dylan!

I will be at the Halloween show in Redondo.

band and show is great.

(i don't care too much for the barraco tunes tho), wonderful fella though.

if i am around 1st week of nov, i will see them again at the heady outdoor organic farm show.

Don't miss out on a good thing. I thought they were great.
Looking forward to seeing them open for JGB Melvin

I might try to catch the show in SLO.
