So how did Democrats do in your area?

Forums:

Yesterday the Dems gained a new Democrat for VA and NJ Governor. In my area 4 important county positions went to the Democrats. The first time in decades. Did this happen where you are and is it a result of dissatisfaction with the current POSIC?

Let me get back to you on Dec. 12th.

Today it is 42-42. Amazing in itself.

Democrats took 2 out of 3 council seats. This is remarkable for my town.

The town I grew up in went democrat for the first time in more than 100 years.

Biggest Democrat gain in the Virginia legislature since 1899.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. I live in Utah!

The replacement for the seat Jason Chapputz left is a white male mormon mayor of Provo, home of the church-owned university.

A female doctor, who got tons of upfront money from out of state when she first challenged Chapputz, said she was really disappointed by the 57%-27%  margin.

Disappointed - "I thought I could break through". Hell, she didn't even win in Salt Lake County.

Our big test will be the Salt Lake County mayor (D) going up against Mia Love (R). He has a chance with Mia only ahead by 3 percentage points in early polls right after he announced.

I believe he has a good shot, and I may volunteer for him. It would be nice to have a democrat in our delegation, and could serve the state well.

White mormon male, but more progressive than anyone we have now. Would be nice to have someone stand up for our environment.

I attended a City Council meeting last night to oppose the proposal of hiring a DC lobbyist - not just any lobbyist but one whose firm is being investigated by Mueller for money laundering and  Russia connections. The Mayor announced at the start of the meeting that the agenda item had been removed. so we won...for now.

We didn't have any elections here.

No persons on ballot this time around - we renewed a county public safety bond measure.

D gov.

Locally, Rs didn't even field candidates for two council seats.

I wrote myself in against an unchallenged Republipuke

Dems swept my area, good to see folks paying attention as VA continues to go blue. Proud of my state.

Good start with VA and NJ..

My brother won his city council race in Maryland.

What part of the state, Surf?  We have scattered MD peeps.

A DC suburb I am not at liberty to name here.

It's near Chillum.

I love chillums. Not too many know how to use them though.

A lost art.

There were no elections for any candidates in Maine, only ballot measures.
Liberalism did well. Defeated a casino, and passed Medicaid expansion.

Cam, I thought Lepage is blocking the Medicaid expansion

He;s trying; I believe all he can do is delay it. He did veto legal weed.

OCLT, he can't due shit. He's gone in a year.

Every time he loses something, he talks shit like a little bitch. He never does anything. He's useless flesh.

Surfdead, he did not veto legal weed. He vetoed a bill from the Legislature, which wasn't very good anyway.
As it stands, the law that Mainers voted in, remains the one we go by. All he did was further delay the commercialization, and the potential for the state to make $ from it. Maine remains a huge weed State. I'll bet there are a lot less box trucks coming east these days! Everybody's walking down the street legal, though.

It's amazing, he says ridiculous shit, gets tons of coverage for it, and it gives both sides the impression that he accomplishes things. I swear he was a case study for Donnie's Plan.

 >>>>>he did not veto legal weed

Thanks; I stand corrected.

so what happens in maine now? the house voted to uphold the gov's veto, 74-62.

so you have legal cannabis, just no framework to for a retail market now? until february when the issue is take up again?
