NYT -

For the first couple of hours, it was, with messages of New York’s resilience sandwiched between performances by the New York Philharmonic, Jennifer Hudson (wow), Carlos Santana (no truckin), LL Cool J (WTF), and Earth Wind and Fire (September), among others.

But shortly after 7:30 p.m., as my personal favorite Barry Manilow (the weather jinx)  was performing “Can’t Smile Without You,” lightning brought the concert to a halt.

The crowds were sent home, and the concert was brought to an abrupt halt. Even with Hurricane Henri expected to make landfall in the region Sunday, officials held out the hope of resuming the performance if the weather allowed, and CNN, which had been broadcasting the concert, vamped for time. Many of the headliners, including Bruce Springsteen, Paul Simon, Patti Smith, Elvis Costello and Maluma, had yet to perform when it was cut short. But shortly before 10:30 p.m., the show was called off for good.

I think Maluma did perform, according to Anderson Cooper. I didn't see any acts, just him killing time with that woman. They had ads to run and charge for!

Central Park had about 4.5 inches of rain yesterday. They'd tried, but a second round of lightning appeared and they called it. It's that goddamned son-of-a-bitch Biden. MF'er.

Barry Manilow got on stage and the heavens wept.

First time Barry closed a show in 40 years

Herbal Dave & Fishcane w/ the slam dunks .... classic zoning!

Barry Manilow looks like a ventriliquist dummy.
