Socal Venue/Show alerts

Forums:

Well, there's this place...Don the Beachcomber. The current promoter has been doing an excellent job over the last few years in the Americana tyep genre. Take a look at the calendar https://www-donthebeachcomber-com.seatengine.com/home

Markd and I recently saw Bill Kirchen/Commander Cody.

Coming up:  Dos Lobos (Cesar/David), Jimmy Dale Gilmore/Kirchen, NRBQ/Flores

The bad thing is the venue is weird for GA...its a meat/seat/dinner + show venue...but the show quality makes up for that. Just an FYI that there are tons of good shows there.

Sounds like the Coach House in San Juan Capistrano . Ian Hunter is playing there for only $25.

I dream of flying out for the Ian Hunter show, I can (burn some AMX points). If I do, I'd like to get the steak and buy beers for any cool Viva people in attendance.

Sorry, here is the link to the Coach House (below). I think David Lindley is playing for $20 8/25.

yes bluelight, it is similar to the coach house, but w/ a hawiian theme. i live 10 mins from it. let me know if you come out.

i was a busboy in the 80's at the coach house. its a weird place...w/ terrible food.

Definitely. Thank you.

Thee Commons are a Cumbia Punk band playing The Casbah in San Diego Friday July 7.

I'm seeing a blues guitar player from Brooklyn - Popa Chubby at the YMCA/Boulton Center in Bayshore Long Island, Sautrday 6/17 for $25.

A really nice low-key theater. Our own mini Fillmore.  Steve Kimock is there 6/8. Plenty of seats for both shows.

Not SoCal, but not bad this time of year.

How's the Pacific Amphitheatre? I'm thinking of possibly heading up for one night of Steel Pulse who is playing on 7/8-9. Pretty shitty summer lineup otherwise.

the pacific is like a small irvine meadows but is at the oc fair grounds so be prepared for that....not puff-friendly. i was kicked out of a dylan show there..

but technically is a nice little amp...

sounds like the perfect place for a reggae show

precisely across...

I didn't know Pacific Amp took out their lawn.

I really enjoyed Los Straightjackets tonight.

They' re playing this club Don the Beachcomber in Sept.
