These fires just started this morning and already 27,000 evacuated, 150 homes destroyed. People went to sleep and everything was normal, then were awakened to news that fire was threatening their neighborhood.
We are having crazy Santa Ana winds with gusts to 70 or 80 mph.
Hell of a run yesterday in SB. 11,000 acres just above town. Firefighters held it with 60 mph winds. Pretty unbelievable. No wind events until midweek.
hopefully gravy and cinderoo (if she still lives in town) are safe.
We evacuated, and were able to return home today. Everything is a mess, but it's all still here. So grateful to look up tonight and see stars instead of a blanket of smoke. (Happy Solstice)
Thanks for the kind thoughts, Racket, Turtle and all. This was a hell of a fire. Second largest wildfire in recorded CA history is what I'm hearing.
