On August 10, Dead & Company concluded its 30-date residency at the state-of-the-art Sphere venue in Las Vegas. The third band to take on the coveted concert role following U2 and Phish wrapped up its 30-day weekend-specific stand (primarily relying on the Thursday through Saturday format) with a total revenue gain of $131,449,777, according to Touring Data’s collection of Live Nation stats, which also presents 476,945 total tickets sold.

The Dead Forever residency featured 30 concerts over 10 weeks: May 16-18, May 24-26, May 30-Jun. 1, June 6-8, June 13-15, June 20-22, July 4-6, July 11-13, August 1-3, and August 8-10. The average ticket sales per concert totaled 15,898, making for $4,381,659 in average revenue while reflecting a ticket sale average of $275.61.

According to the Box Office statistics, the referred Grateful Dead offshoot, comprising the collective talents of Bobby Weir, Mickey Hart, John Mayer, Oteil Burbridge, Jeff Chimenti, and Jay Lane, had its most financially successful weekend from June 6 through 8. The three-concert weekend series brought in $15,496,090, surpassing their June 20-22 dates, which grossed $15,206,022, the second-highest earnings weekend.

Even on the low end, Dead & Company brought in a staggering $9,587,390 during its August 1-3, 2024 dates, which coincided with the onset of the Days Between, further delineating a celebration regarding the late guitarist, Jerry Garcia.

At this time, Dead & Company does not have impending dates on the calendar, though frontman Weir will take this road this fall. The rhythm guitarist will participate in the Los Angeles-based tribute concert honoring The Band’s Robbie Robertson on Oct. 17, before the arrival of Hulaween hosted The Bob Weir Incident, featuring The String Cheese Incident, followed by a trickle of Wolf Bros orchestra gigs. Tickets and further information can be found here.

No wonder Oteil was grinning ear to ear this weekend (well, he is always smiling).   Wonder how much him, Jay, and Jeff get?

Ferraris don't run on air...

In other news, Walmart is now offering unsold DeadCo Sphere tee-shirts in their discount bin because "they make great Halloween costumes," according to a company spokesperson.

Originally priced at $129 each, each shirt is packaged with a box of Dramamine because "frankly, they can induce extreme nausea."

Did they out do Ticketmaster?

I guess they will never tour again... why would they.. Billy is kicking himself ...lol

Might have to rethink that "we used to play for money, now we play for life" line.

wow those are the ugliest shirts i have ever seen

We used to play for money

Now we play for more

I thought that with those t-shirts, Alan has really outdone himself with the photochopping. He didn't.

I went to four shows and did not see one person wearing those hideous shirts. Who thought those were a good idea.

Also didn't they make way more money on their summer tours than they did on the Sphere run or does trucking sound systems around really cut that much into what you make.

They'll do it again next year.   I wonder what the costs were of this extravaganza.

And it would be nice if they made some shirts that were of interest.   Not sure who is in charge of this merch but so dissapointing.

Amazing reward for subpar music, subjectively.  I went once and won't be going again.

There's that good old zone spirit!

((( not fade away )))

I believe the UFC is bringing their show to the Sphere this weekend

Dead and Co to open

Tee shirts are like music, in that not every inch off the shirt needs color. Save room for the thick air

John Mayer's DeadCo©️

So, you pholks paid 276.00 ave per ticket?  Wow.  For a cover band.  And John Mayer. Wow.

Mark, not Wow..... Meow.... Did you see this recent expose on Entertainment Tonight?

"After Bill Kruetzman tricked me by sayin there is no starlet in this world tastier than actual cat ass (which can be procured in Japan by the way), I got my revenge –

I took over his band, fired him, and now I’m using all the money I saved not paying that liar to buy the entire Robert Hunter song catalog for myself, which I will gleefully butcher like Jeffrey Dahmer on Thorazine. And I also make Bobby and Mickey call me Sphere Daddy."

That's funny.

The Mayer cat pics above reminded me of the hilarious encounter from NYE on CNN.  John Mayer in a cat bar from Japan.

Perhaps Mayer should switch to sketch comedy.

Anderson Coopers boyish laugh fucking kills me.

This is good for a few moments of laughs.
