Spin Doctors still touring

Forums:

So, came across an article a few weeks ago in the local paper ( online) and saw that The Spin Doctors were set to play in our little town in a tiny theater...225 seats, mostly sold out even. We bought some tix and am gonna see them tomorrow night...

tix were 83.50 including the 3.50 Tix fee...

will report back

peace

I heard they got a new bass player

mark white refused to get a covid shot

enjoy?

I have almost no pop cultural references between 1990 and 2000.

its a night out with the old lady

i was a stagehand and roadie from mid 80's thru late 90's and did them twice, first time @ the now defunct Sunrise Musical Theater with Eddie Brickel and the NB and later at a county fair...

for the amount of stuff we were putting in our bodies back in South Florida 25-30 years ago, i  remarkably have a pretty good memory...

Have fun.

Guilty pleasure but never seen them live.  Only five shows on their tour calendar right now and all back east.

I saw them three times in college and that was enough.  They played here for free a year ago and I passed.  $80 sounds pricey for big fat funky booty that's probably sagging.

Widespread Panic->Spin Doctors->Blues Traveler. Halloween '91 @ Roseland Ballroom. A good night.

OK so, great little theater...nice rental PA brought in and the lights went down @ 8:03 and the band was on stage by 8:05...band was tight, sounded great, lead singer ( Chris Barron ) had hilarious stage banter and they played a solid 100 minute set... it was a rock and roll / bluesy set and for a local date night dinner and show it was perfect...we liked the theater so much we bought tickets to a play the local theater company is staging next month.

Interesting

how heavily are they relying on cover material in their set?

There had to have been a Hip To Be Square or Future's So Bright in there somewhere...

Saw them on the first HORDE tour. Lily got Mark White's autograph at the merch table.  There may have been some jokes about them and the Burbridge brothers being the only POC there.

A year or so later Eric Schenkman's grandma rode in my taxi.  She was very proud of him.

Zero Covers - they have like 6 albums of material to pull from...and a new one coming out.

Just go ahead now

caught them once in 94/95 ish (summer b4 or after i graduated)

cracker / gin blossoms / spin doctors

my fingers would fall off if i typed all the stories from that night...hadn't thought about it in a long time...thanks for the reminder and smile :)

i say, GTTS itll be a good time

Aren't' they The Spun Doctors now?

The span of over 3 decades doctors

Glad ya'll had a good time. $80 including dinner doesn't seem awful these days. How was the dinner ?

Blues Traveler's John Popper is sitting in with them tomorrow at Brooklyn Bowl (as per Fans website)
