Springsteen on Broadway details (I am not a bot)

Forums:

Let's hope this TM ticketing program helps out.

http://brucespringsteen.net/broadway/

better open some extra ticketmaster accounts folks.

for those unfamiliar with "verified" presales -

getting a code is only part of the battle. in fact, since the codes are usually not account specific, a big secondary market has been created with people selling codes. you will be able to find them on ebay the morning of the on sale.

bots? these don't stop the bots at all. brokers just load their unique codes into their bots just like they did with any presale password for years. all the verified presale actually does is force brokers to perform a second step and send the code requests in prior to the onsale.

on top of all this bullshit - this is broadway.

as with anything on broadway tons of tickets will walk out the side door and never even make it to ticketmaster. the "cheap" seats will be hard to come by.

on another note "the BOSS" - a true "man of the people" has decided that primo orchs should be priced at 850.00 each which puts his prices right in line with hamilton.

the only difference is hamilton has to pay rent for the theater. springsteen is getting the theater rent free.

Well, you don't act like you've ever left CA.

Where in Jersey?

Just the airport in Newark before seeing a shuttle to Manhattan and boarding.

And across the street from a train station in Rhode Island. I woke up and got off the train and started skating away before seeing a sign

and realizing I wasn't in Boston yet. I quickly skated back to the train.

I wasnt in those two states long enough to soak up their culture.

I admire the success and energy of Bruce.
But I have always detested his music and his fanbase....

(A rare instance of negativity from me on VLZ...  I"m from Joisey but I have lived in CA for 30 years. As far as Springsteen goes you can have him - I'll gladly stay home.)

But I have always detested his music and his fanbase....

OK. Detested is a very strong word. What makes you detest his music and why do you detest his fanbase?

Bruce did some Solo stuff in 2005

Having grown up in NJ - Springsteen's Fans were always, to me, the jerks of my world and were characters in direct opposition to the laid back, knowing wink in the eye, dead heads who had more fun, way longer attention spans and a taste for the mysterious in comparison to the repetitive churn of Born in the USA.

Once again - I mean no disrespect to Bruce - he has written some music that stand the test of time but for me - there's just no interest.

I know the crazy energy of his shows and fan unity that gets behind is what it's all about -
but there just is no jam element or exploration of the music, simply for the sake of exploration -  and that to me is boring.

Have fun and please don't consider this a diss - it's more like a public acknowledgement that I just don't care for it.

I saw Bruce do the Tom Joad solo acoustic stuff at the Bridge in 2005 and liked it.

Springsteen fans are notoriously bad dancers. They choice in jeans also leaves something to be desired.

On the positive side, they aren't Billy Joel fans. So they have that going for them.

Thank you. You write some lucid thoughts on why. I hear you about that type of Springsteen fans. Having grown up in NJ myself, I met many. I have also met a huge amount of fans that are much closer to the deadhead vibe you mention. The E Street can jam with the best of them and sometimes do. The difference is that most of Springsteen's songbook is more constricted because of the song structure. Born in the USA is probably one of my least favorite band songs although Bruce playing acoustically is quite different. Many barely recognize it when his distorted acoustic kicks in. You can listen to my favorite version here. Born In The USA acoustic.

FYI, I didn't feel that you disrespected Mr. Springsteen and, even if you did, that is your opinion. I was just curious as to your reasoning for detesting him and the fanbase.

Springsteen fans are notoriously bad dancers. They choice in jeans also leaves something to be desired.

Can't argue with that. Although I will say that most fans of older rock stars all have poor choice in jeans. Deadheads might top that list.
