I was able to go the Laid Back Festival yesterday and catch phenomenal sets from Steve Winwoood & Jackson Browne last night.
The best concert of the summer for me, was the season finale at Jones Beach - The Laid Back Festival now dedicated to the memory of Gregg Allman(rip), who was supposed to be there.
I had an 8th row seat, but someone was in it, so the staff gave me a second row and then gave me a front row. Nice!
Steve Winwood's set was the best I ever heard from him live. Just really at the top of his game. Looks and sounds terrific.
Jackson Browne's set was one of the best mucical events I ever witnessed. Really.
The day & night was one of the best of the year, with a stunning sun set. along the westrly drive along Ocean Parkway on the way there.
Jackson said he will never for for get how beautiful of a day & night it was. Jackson being a long time friend of Gregg Allman let the music be the savior.

Scored free tickets to a Steve Winwood private SiriusXM concert tomorrow afternoon at the Sirius studios. Who knew they had a concert stage there? Not me. Who knew that Sirius did these types of "customer appreciation" shows? Not me, until I finally started reading the emails from Sirius a few weeks back....lol. Can't imagine how many shows I might have thrown away just because I didn't want to look at what I figured was spam mail....
Oh well, it's an hour-long show they say, with some Q&A as well. Pretty psyched for it!

Me too. Through XM, I won 2 free tickets to see Joan Jett & Boston at Jones Beach & it rocked. However, our seats got flooded out and I took a video of it & sent to to VP of Live Nation, and they let me pick any other event & they would "comp" me & I selected - Winwood/Browne. It was a special night for sure. The stars were aligned.
Yes, XM has a studio and puts on some great shows. Read there emails!.

Take it Easy was actually
Take it Easy was actually originally started by JB, then , living below him in same bldng at time, when Eagle member (glenn frey, i blv) inquired what happenned to that song he had heard Jackson wrkng on for months, JB replied he has gotten stuck w it....he basically "gave" what he had lyrically and musically to Frey, and it became the huge hit for The Eagles.
Also, he sat in on "Melissa" w Greg in the past , at least once, if not a cpl x.

Greg nailed the David Lindley steel guitar parts and just took off.
During "Doctor My Eyes" it was just unbelievable. In my left ear is this screaming steel guitar and in my right ear is the lead guitarist -Val McCallum, who has the Jessie Ed Davis lead down, big time.
This is Jackson's best band, "with Bob Glaub on bass from the original cast of characters."
