Slacker here's the rest of
Slacker here's the rest of the Rock The Plaza gigs:
http://lafayettefestival.com/summer-of-love-lafayette
Presented by the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce and the City of Lafayette, this year’s Rock the Plaza Summer concert series will feature music from that special time when free spirit, peace, love and compassion became the principles young people embraced and music was at the heart of the hippie movement.
We hope you can join us for the Summer of Love Lafayette!
The lineup includes cover bands that feature the music of Jefferson Airplane, Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, and many of the sounds from 1967:
June 2: San Francisco Airship
June 9: Shakey Zimmerman
June 16: Dream Posse
June 23: Barry “the fish” Melton and his band
Lafayette’s Rock the Plaza series, now in its 12th season, takes place Friday nights in June at Lafayette’s Plaza Park at the corner of Mt. Diablo Boulevard and Moraga Road. This summer, the special Summer of Love artist alley will open at 5:30pm, and the bands play from 6:30pm – 8:30pm, followed by a hootenanny.
Bell-bottoms and hippie attire encouraged. Costumes, too! These concerts are “tie-dye” optional. Bring a picnic and a blanket, or buy dinner from the dozens of restaurants located within two blocks of the Plaza.
