Super Bowl

Forums:

Have a hard time watching my teams in big games but this looks like a fairly even match.

There is something about Mahomes closing games when he needs to that I believe gives the Chiefs the edge.   Hope the Eagles clobber them and don't provide an opportunity for last second heroics.

Clearly a fired up crowd here on the zone.

green team

I may watch part of the Puppy Bowl.

Sportsball is a mild diversion for me these times.  If enough clicks of the clock go by everything gets spots on it.  No real favorite teams or getting geeked about it.

I pay the most attention to college football but that is morphing a good bit.  I used to a baseball fanatic but now a mild fan looking on from afar.

My take on today's event is Eagles, one score likely.  Hard to not favor the Chiefs but I've got a feeling.

I followed Jalen Hurts at Alabama and Oklahoma, I enjoy his pro success, and I hope he gets the validation today.  Also Saquon Barkley is the extra X-factor.

The Eagles refused Orange Mussolini when they won last time.

I saw Foghat and Pat Travers in '79. Some guy packed a huge teakwood pipe full of hash and it went back and forth amongst at least a dozen people for a few rounds. That was a true Super bowl.

Eagles are the better team and should win by double digits

Goddard will score

Looking forward to today. I fly my flag like it's a national holiday. What the hell ya know? I just love the idea of a national party. While the importance of sports is overblown, today is a lot of fun for a lot of people and I join in. I got lucky in 2008 and got to go o a real good one. Rocked out to Tom Petty with plenty of beers consumed. Air guitar champ in my section fer sure!

Have a great time everyone! Love Reid and Mahomes but kinda rooting for the Eagles, just for a change. Either's OK with me.

tired of the Chiefs hype, their celebrity affiliations, and the Mahomes mystique...

Go Philly!!

Ooops.Double post.

Despite all the bloated foolishness of the Super Bowl it's still a championship game with all the natural drama and emotions that come with that, so of course I'll be watching, and while I don't really care who wins I'm leaning a bit toward KC because I love greatness, I admire dynasties, and they're both. If they get that elusive three-peat they'll be remembered and talked about for as long as the NFL exists, and I think that's pretty cool.

I don't believe they're favored by the refs/the league because that type of conspiracy is silly in general and is too risky for an operation that is already so successful and makes so much money. I think that storyline comes mainly from the fact that the refs are trigger happy and make lots of mistakes and when the Chiefs get a call it's often more noticeable because they happen under the big lights of big games, and more importantly because they often take advantage of the breaks they get.

Every team gets lucky breaks, the difference is good teams make it hurt. After a winning team gets a marginal call they're in the end zone two or three plays later and everyone is losing their minds about the call, while after a losing team gets a marginal call the QB throws an interception or gets sacked, they punt and no one remembers.

Overall I just hope the refs stay out of it and the best team wins. Good luck to those who care.

Is that today?

When does baseball season start?

Watching; not rooting one way or the other. But if some KC fan doing that racist Chop/Chant combo were to twist an ankle and spill his beer while shitting himself tumbling down the stairs, I'd applaud.

Gotta respect Mahomes for getting shit done.  And repeatedly suckering defenders with a pump fake when he's 15 yards past the LOS.

 Ravens   Eagles

I'll take the chop & chant fan over the "You're a dumb, ugly cunt!" fan.

But that's just me.

And the refs already with a chiefs call. Experts say it's bogus.  The fix is in

"Experts" are wrong. It was clearly OPI.

The only reason the world will be exploding over that call is a) it's the Chiefs and b) we've all been completely indoctrinated to believe that receivers are allowed to shove, push, grab, slam into, climb over defenders while defenders get the flag if they breathe on the receiver.

The rule book says it's 50/50, the refs call it 95/05 for the offense. Just because it's almost never called doesn't mean it was a bad call.

Oops, and right there is a far worse call AGAINST the Chiefs. How does that fit the conspiracy narrative?

Payback is hell.

Have a cheese steak sub... there's always next year

Bald Eagle Royalty-Free Stock Photo  Talk about giant killers, beat Brady/Belicheck, then Mahomes/Reid.  Whose next?

Fixed that for you.

Helluva night for the Eagles.

Tick tack foul if anything.  I'll listen to the guy who's job is assess this rather than a hippy.   Didn't matter, the refs gave the eagles one back on the following set of plays and it was cruise control from there on out.  >>>>Payback is hell.

Saquan made this team, even though his yards were minimal, damn did he work the clock and take a beating.

And that defense smoked Mahomes.   I've never seen him so uncomfortable.   Didn't have to blitz.   Kelce was more worried about that 70's outfit and his hair than the game.

That's one of the funniest things I've seen in a while.  Shit works evidently.

Eagles fans had their Superbowl Parade today in Philly -- it made it about 6 blocks before it dissolved, making a droning wah wah wad sound...
