Supreme Court Gives Old Wrestler’s Suit A Stone Cold Stunner

Sad, if not unexpected, to hear of the CTE, early deaths and dementia that these guys are dealing with.  

I saw Jimmy "The Butterfly" Snukka in a cage match versus Andre The Giant the only time I witnessed pro wrestling, back in the Spring of '83 at the Capital Centre  in Landover, Maryland.  Guess it didn't turn out so well.

At least Pro Wrestling is more or less scripted, so they should be able to reduce head trauma, but this isn't as easy with the other heavy contact sports like Football, Rugby, Hockey, Boxing and Martial Arts.  With what's now known about CTE, I wonder what changes will come to these sports?  The Supreme Court tossed the wrestler's suit against the WWE both because the statute of limitations had expired, and because the court said there is no way to prove the WWE knew of the brain damage the wrestler's were encountering.  That will be hard for any of the various sports to claim going forward.
