Surprise Ticket: Blue Oyster Cult

Forums:

Good friend offered me a ticket to see BOC tonight in Lancaster, of all places. Sure, I'll go, see what's up. Eric Bloom and Buck Dharma still fronting the band. It's in a small 1600 seat place, Merican Music Theater, never been there. Saw them many years ago, wonder if they still have the cheesy godzilla smoke breathing stage prop, surly a Spinal Tap moment in the waiting if they do! Should be fun if nothing else.

don't fear the whatnot!

Saw em a coupweeks ago. Not bad

Are you ready to rock ?

No cheesy props - just a great show- don't miss em- they're getting better with age.

I caught them in July in Albany OR and they smoked. Here's a shot of Buck- - -

Saw them right before the pandemic and it kicked ass.   Unpretentious stage show and they looked like your uncle's garage band, but they laid down some serious rock and roll.

Saw them in Santa Cruz, must have been around 1970.  I remember that for a song or two, all members of the band grabbed guitars and stood on edge of stage and rocked out. Do they still do that?

No, I don't have any Blue Oyster Cult.

Last time around I ate 14 pairs.

Where were you?

The cows in Lancaster ain't gonna be givin' no milk tomorrow! Was a good solid show, all the songs you know plus a lot more.

Most of the new stuff they played was pretty good too, It was good to know they are still creating and not just a wind up act anymore.

Good for them. The place was probably 80% full, lots of grey around and it got a little rowdy when they were cranking it out.

I did not see a cowbell anywhere!

MarkD - i believe that song was Cities on Flame; 5 or 6 guitars.

Hey now Tree!   I don't remember the song, just the gimmick. Everybody on guitar, drummer, keyboards, everyone. And they stood on the edge of the stage. Thought it was good fun at the time.

Seen em lots, but not since a gig at Toads when Allen (RIP) Lanier was still anchoring the band, fuckin loved that guy - gave him some bud that nite, had some laughs, got all their autographs. They're playing the Palace in Nov, I'll be there, God willing.

The Black (Sabbath) + Blue (Oyster Cult)  tour a few lives ago in New Haven was quite the bodacious sumthin.

Saw that Black and Blue 1980 tour at the Capitol Centre. Had great seats. Don't remember a thing but still have the peogram from that tour.

<< don't remember a thing

LOL yep you were there alright and I'm sure you had a blast. Not remembering proves it. No Ozzy on that tour, we got Ronnie James Dio.  Sometimes all I remember is the ride to the show LOL

I've listened to the newest album a few times. I thought it was really good.

Other than that, I saw the Black & Blue tour way back. Then I saw them about 6 or 7 years ago here in Ogden, UT.

The Tubes opened up. The Tubes blew them away, I thought.
