I swim daily, in an 80 degree pool. No diving board available though.
My friend was telling me about her husband and daughter swimming in SF Bay every morning at Aquatic Park, no wetsuits yesterday. They encounter sea lions and an occasional whale. I might join them, but I would wear my (shortie) wet suit and probably only last about 15 minutes in the frigid water. Well, longer if visited by a friendly dolphin..
Twenty years ago, my boss was swimming a triathlon in SF Bay and brushed against something in the water... she said it felt like a body but she thought it was probably aquatic and told her follow boat about it, but they didn't see anything.
The next day I read in the Chronicle that some guy fell off a party boat and drown in the Bay the night before her swim.

Flaming dolphins at 4:32?
Flaming dolphins at 4:32? What would PETA have to say about this?
But seriously, JR's dolphin thread seems to have triggered something in you, Nanc. Maybe you need a little hydrotherapy to work through some issues?

She was not thrilled to learn that.
