Is Terrapin Crossroads an "Egalitarian" Venue?

Forums:

Or, is it sectioned off via a "class system"?

From my limited experience of having seen only one show there a few years ago, I would say it's the former ... anyone was welcome into the restaurant / bar & the Grate Room seemed to be entirely GA (hoodies on the floor aside).   Seems "VIP experiences" don't necessarily have a direct effect upon the Grate Room's flow, other than early entry.  Have I missed something or has anything changed in recent times?

From my observation:

Musicians and related support staff ONLY on the stages.

Kids get a fenced off section in front of the stage for Stories and Songs with Phil Lesh.

(((Elitists)))

^ fair enough, this ain't no acid test :-)

I know that you're going somewhere with this, but it's fun to play along.

For a brief period of time, the VIP folks had the front of the stage reserved, but that was awhile ago.

Well it is interesting to ponder the "constructs", especially when you question everybody's "role" in the room ... along with one's respective duties and restrictions.

I ordered broiled Eagle with New Potatoes once, only to be served something which tasted like Chicken.

There was a nice Bearnaise sauce on the side.

^^^ Nice DStu, I do like a good roasted Eagle especially if its Lonely...

You live in a small mountain town, right? Utensils and class issues are a big deal there?

lol, was just thinking of that thread today while eating out for lunch ... there was just a knife in rolled up napkin (it was missing a fork).  Was that knife "safe" to use?

But yes, for some reason "social justice" seems to be a filter I apply often.  TXR seemed very amicable to me on that front (in spite of hoodies).

It's been five years.

It's a low key scene.

It's wide open.

Pretty much like it's always been.

No venue is perfect, but TxR is doing just fine.

And that's a fan and a patron talking, not a shill.
