Terrapin Crossroads tonight 3/6

Forums:

Terrapin Family Band with special guest Bob Weir, free show at the bar.

Nice free show...

With Bob Weir?  Probably going to be just a little bit crowded.  Good way to celebrate 5 years.

Better get in line now!

Yeah, I was going to try to head out about 7:30, when my wife plans to return home from a meeting.  Now I get to stay home this evening and rest up for a future show.

Have fun, those of you who GTTS!

Well well well. That would be some fun!!!

Sure sounds fun!

Phil & Bob.jpg

This will be fun!

Wish I could be there!

Way COOL !

5 Freaking years?!

time flies

I hear it's already a Zoo at the TXRs see you monkeys there!

It looks like I have a 50-50 chance of getting out of the house by 7:30PM and want to give the show a try.

Woz or HeyDavey (or anyone else with boots on the ground):  Sometime around 7ish, can you provide us with a crowd control/possibility of entering to building?

Thanks!

> 5 Freaking years?!

I know, right? Here's a link to the first TXR show I captured. 03/25/2012:

^Nice!

Looks like people are already receiving wrist bands, so I'm figuring on staying home tonight.

Perhaps I'll join some of you for a stream.

SHow is just about ready to start NOW!

What a Great Time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great set list. Nice photos. Looking forward to the vids on youtube.

It was Spike, it was...

What time did people have to line up to get in?

^I'm guessing that several people were in line before 3-4PM.  I think that all wrist bands were distributed before 5PM.

lol, it took last night's band 3 tries to get the intro to Weir's "Lay My Lily Down" right

before last night, when was the last time Bobby & Phil shared a stage together?

^outdoors around fire at txr last summer, i think...or jackie greens bday party...also last summer...(maybe even same date, either way, it was last summer, i blv

Jackie Green's birthday in November was the last time Phil and Bobby played together.

from the videos posted, id say pretty lackluster imo. grahame shouldn't be on stage, lol, and ross james can't really lead dead music. the drummer is better than tony bologna tho, so that's a plus.

be cool to see phil put together a real band w/ bobby for a few nights. melt some faces.

here's Voodoonola2's YouTube video of the entire 2nd set:

No TXR stream or side stream tonight, or am I just lookin' in all the wrong places?

On now:

Thx Dave, I'll check that out. Looks like a fun line up tonight and at just $40 it's not sold out. Has potential to be one of those special uncrowded mid week shows. Must be too many free shows lately. Almost jumped in the car last minute.

Oh ya.

Phil is bombing.

Happy now.

tuning in just now... sounding real good!

Barry shining through on that one.

No shortage of lead tonight with Scott, Barry and RMFJ.

Noice

Just tuned in - thanks for the link

What is Cass McCombs playing?

Don't know- but it sounds great from my house. Wish i was there.

{waves hi to Judit}

He's a guitar player, don't know if he plays anything else.

Right on Joel! YW! That was good fun!

That show was incredibly fun.  Wow.  There is a lot of great music coming from that little room, this one was of the best as far as I'm concerned.

Dave just dominated that 4 string Fender all night and it sounded so good.  Great set list (well done Ross). Gracious players, humble but with big balls (including Nikki).  I'd travel (more than my 20 minute commute to TXR) to see that band, I thought it was that good.

Ha ha old hippy Deadheads finding out what Panic freaks have known for decades - Jobba the Schools is THE F-IN MAN!!!!!!  Heard he recently moved to Marin Co to have access to "the best" um, "medicine"

I listened to most of the 1st set last night via Mixlr stream, and watched the entire 2nd set on a FB webcast -- and I agree it was really good... jaw-dropping at times, esp. that monumental ending to the 1st set that LLTD raved about (above).

there's one thing, though, that sometimes brings the vibe to a screeching halt w/ groups where Ross James is performing... his "vocals," IMHO, are sometimes OK but often atrocious... can't stand that talking style of vocals, esp. when everybody else is actually singing competently

just my $0.02

The Stranger (Two Souls In Communion) Lyrics

What are they seeing when they look in each other's eyes?
What are they feeling when they see each other's smile?
Is it a love I've never known or an emotion that I've outgrown?

Did I take a wrong turnin' on life's winding road?
Won't somebody help me find the, find the right way to go?
My life need some correction, alteration in direction
Won't someone come with me for a while, for a while, yes, yes I'm lost

What is the secret of this tie that binds
Two souls in communion, both body and mind
Is it special magic or just the nature of things?
Conceived of great spirit, not for beggars but kings

You who have found it, please help me along
I'm a man, I'm a man, I'm not, I'm not made out of stone
My needs they are simple, I don't want many things
But I truly want to fly on them wings of love one more time

That's all I need
I wanna fly on them wings
I wanna fly on them wings of love
I'm a stranger here

Won't somebody help me now
I wake up early in the morning
You know, you know, you know my pillow gets soaking wet
All I need, all I need

That's to fly on them wings
I'm in love one more time
I'm a stranger in your town
Don't [Incomprehensible] on them wings
