The word for rhythm ( used by the Malinke tribes ) is FOLI.
It is a word that encompasses so much more than drumming, dancing or sound.
It's found in every part of daily life.

Seems like aging rids one of simple joys if you're not careful, but having a skunk under the bunk for a month generated giggles in me I can't describe, lol... so many animal stories when you spend months a year in the field, but it's always those personal moment that define life, in all forms, and all facets...
I was last down there between Xmas and NYE, nobody had been there for 2 months. The dog bowl was brimmed with water, and had 4 mice perfectly laid on their backs in perfect unison and condition. I think we left him a water bowl full, but that should have evaporated or been drunk, but it was full and pristine, except for the mice. I was impressed, figure it was a gift from him, as animals have been known to do. I really do miss him, kind of worried that next time i'm down there, there's going to be a bunch of little ones, I may die from cuteness overload! Just not enough spotted skunks out there, even though they're an apex predator.
