They Have A Right to Spread Disease?

Forums:

One of the Utah assholes participating in the anti-vax and anti-mask movement here had a rally today at City Hall in Salt Lake.

I went, to protest the protestors again. I was by myself, and I had signs that said this:

Rally Signs (800x600) (640x480).jpg

As I stood in the front facing the crowd 15 feet from his podium, the clown cited a "dissenter" being there and granted me my rights as an American (as if I need his blessing?), telling the small crowd (2-300, where the last one was over 1,200) I had a right to be there and he was glad I wasn't being disruptive and I even got a round of applause. I had to really bite my tongue with some of the absolute horse shit he was laying out, but when he said he trusted God, I shouted out "Trust God's vaccine!"

That's not to say some of the people around me weren't pissed, waving flags in from of my signs, actually drawing MORE attention to them. A couple of grumpy ladies told me I had to leave. LOL

But what was amazing was he read one of my signs to the crowd, and then pronounced that yes indeed, they have the right to spread disease, and the crowd erupted in applause.

We just had a raucous county council meeting where they voted 6-3 to deny the Health Dept Director's mask mandate for schoolchildren, and it appears the media is a little fed up with these clowns as NO TV stations were there today. Maybe they didn't like seeing a Three Percenters flag being waved in the county building while singing patriotic songs. There was a reporter for AP there today but he didn't come talk to me and I didn't notice if he photographed my signs. Guess we'll see in the paper tomorrow. The protestors sure did. LOL

This morning in the paper, they reported ICU beds in Utah were at 102% capacity, hospitals at 85%, and Primary Children's Hospital is full.  As the PCH doctor said last night on the news, "if your child is in need of medical care, we will have to wait for one the children here now to die first."

In the spirit of peace, I did pass on fucking with one family. As I passed them on the way to the rally, I was gonna tell the kids not to hurt themselves today because if they need to go to the hospital, they won't be able to because they are full and another child will have to die first. Let 'em ask mom and dad about that! But I held off.

Some proud boy looking assholes were on the grounds, and as I was walking towards them to pass to leave, they glared at me trying to look intimidating. I was carrying my signs in my arms but decided to hold them up to them as I passed. The one guy said "We saw them before."  I said "You guys should go join the Army instead of just playing like it." One guy said "We did" and I told him "Then go back."  After seeing 40 of those clowns with guns at the Utah State Capitol on Jan 6th intimidating people, I've had it with them.

Another fun day in Salt Lake City!

How exciting!

Racket is just back from kicking Mike's ass, and he's rushing on both testosterone and adrenaline.

Not really, Racket. But we need to stand up to these wingnuts.

Well Bluest, now that we look at his bald head......but no, that wasn't me.

It was kinda funny though, and if this state wasn't so full of busybody whackos with a religious bent, the joke may not have worked. In a more intelligent state, the irony would fall flat.

As my buddy named it, "Dumbfuckistan."

This witch is Gayle Ruzicka, head of the "The Eagle Forum", and she sits at the legislature alerting her mailing list to the evils being perpetrated upon our citizens. A Phyllis Shafley church lady on steroids.

Here she is unhappy over a Human Rights bill being passed. The lead loobbyist for the LGBTQ folks on the hill is a returned missionary who once worked for her. This is the scowl.

Gayle Ruzicka Scowl March 6.jpg

She's so busy watching over us she didn't have time to watch over her own brood and sadly, this sanctimonious witch lost her son to a drug overdose.

Her comment "When gays can marry in Utah, pigs will fly" led me to write a song called "I'm Ducking Hams."

I'm ducking hams, I'm ducking hams

Trying to stay safe, doing all I can.

It's a flying bar-b-que in the sky.

Hope their curly little tails don't "pork" me in the eye.

In the end, she melts like the wicked witch of the west.

There's so much in Utah to write about.

she looks like Palpatine in drag

Worth seeing on its own:

I'm ducking hams, I'm ducking hams

Trying to stay safe, doing all I can.

It's a flying bar-b-que in the sky.

Hope their curly little tails don't "pork" me in the eye.

I especially love, It's a flying bar-b-que in the sky.

Right On Slick,,, You Da Man !!!

<<   I had to really bite my tongue

Very commendable, proud we are of you.

For Judit.

I sang this at the Utah Arts Fest one night and saw Gayle there the next day with some of her 12 kids and 20 grandchildren.

Judge Shelby is Robert James Shelby, the Chief United States District Judge of the United States District Court for the District of Utah, who ruled on Dec. 20, 2013, that Utah’s measure barring same-sex marriage violated the United States Constitution.

Gotta say, the county building where the clerk's office was was SOOOOO joyous. Walked in one Monday and had three floors full of people in line. County employees were handing out treats and singing Christmas carols in the halls. What a great time!

Pigs Flying.jpg

Pink Floyd sang about “Pigs On The Wing”

Utahns are threatened with that very same thing

Gayle Ruzicka said our gay friends wouldn’t marry until

Pigs fly. Now I’m trying not to get killed!

Chorus:

I’m ducking hams,  I’m ducking hams

Tryin’ to stay safe,     doin’ all I can

It’s a flying bar-b-que in the sky

Hope their curly little tails don’t pork me in the eye.

Gayle Ruzicka said Judge Shelby was an activist judge

‘Cause he upheld the constitution and just wouldn’t budge.

She’s gonna huff and puff, try to blow his house down.

In denial ‘bout the porkers flying over our town.

Gayle Ruzicka is a plague on the people of our state

She says she speaks from love but it sure sounds like hate

I think I’ll buy her a burka from Islamabad

She can wear it while she’s running her religious Jihad.

Chorus:

Then the boys from the church came to the hill from above

Said let’s tone down the hate and maybe show folks some love

Gayle sat in the balcony     a scowl on her face

She doesn't like human rights for the whole human race.

Then the Supreme Court said Justice Shelby was right

Everyone can get married! Everyone has that right!

It was like a bucket of water on this witch from the west

I thought I heard her scream “I’m Melting!”       You know the rest.....

Chorus

C - Slickrock Stranger Music

Wow Slick.   Thanks for showing up and saying what needed to be said.   That took cojones of steel.

Good job all around Slick!

Fkn-A, Gayle Ruzicka appears as dead as ever yet she is somehow still sitting there?!?

...mormons love "cox"!

Great, Slick. Thanks. Keep doing the right things.

Dig your stories. Thanks ,Slick.

That woman is a skank.

Reminds me when Darwood Steven's is sitting at the bar murdering a Martini, the disheveled man next to him drunk as fuck says, " You think your married to a witch!?" , while swirling his martini.

Some poor soul probably is married to that woman.

Darwood?

Yes, married. He's an insurance agent.

When I sang this years ago, we made jokes about this being good for him as people would be needing additional coverage on their homeowner's policy for possible roof damage.

Darren, probably?

From the tv show Bewitched.

Well done, Slick, well done.

The signs are excellent.

Thank you for your service to our country.

Slick, did you make the local news ?

Mother in law Endora kept calling Darren Derwood on purpose.

Down with disease
Three weeks in my bed
Trying to stop these demons that keep
Dancing in my head

12 kids?  So Mormons don't use birth control too?

I just checked Raz and no, not this time.

Which is very good because it means the local media is losing interest in this guy. And since he's been going at this since last spring, the crowd of only about 200 indicates he may be being seen for the clown he is and/or enough people have been affected by this virus or see the real effects that they want no part of his shtick. No TV cameras yesterday (April 2020 had three stations there) and only saw one AP print reporter. There's no story from him in either morning paper today. The Parley's Canyon fire later yesterday afternoon helped knock him off the news.

Here's pics of the rally from his FB site which doesn't really tout the rally yesterday as you might think it would as the sparse crowd was a failure for him.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/266103211220686/  I'm not on FB so I can't comment or poke around thoroughly and he wipes dissent off his pages.

"Great Health Freedom Rally in Salt Lake City today! We had some great speakers, including a Utah nurse who came to testify she was given saline by her upper management to inject another nurse for the TV cameras. This wasn't an anti vaccine rally. This was a rally for the freedom to choose for us and our families. If we don't have the freedom to make health decisions without being discriminated on, we don't have an America. Thank you all who came. "

(He even thanked me!? LOL)

The nurse story - some anonymous nurse in a mask and shades and maybe a wig came up and described a medical problem she claimed happened to an elderly client she vaccinated. No credibility and no way to verify it, but this clown tried to make a big deal of her story that Health Department officials told her she would take part in a staged vaccination using saline solution for the media after it happened. "Make it look good for the media" she claimed they instructed. But the story can't be verified - yet. The clown proclaimed if the media there doesn't cover her story, they are not working on behalf of America. I wouldn't be surprised if it's made up drama by him to try and make things worse. And the nurse claimed to be unvaccinated, and wanted anonymity, so how could they investigate? He often records his things, but surprisingly I haven't see much audio or video of yesterday on his site and one person asked if they recorded the nurse.

But to end with some humor, this pic is from last year's rally as I was defending the local Health Department. I gave them my name but this is how it appeared.

So from now on, it's MISTER Slickrock Stranger to you!  LMAO

Link above won't work. Maybe a extra space on the one above?

https://www.facebook.com/groups/266103211220686/

Yeah, this works but ya gotta scroll down his page to find the rally he's so proud of and pumped at the top.

Fucking Awesome !!   I know a celebrity,,, feel like a mr stranger. Long May You Run brother !!@

HaHa! Now THAT is hilarious, Mr Slickrock Stranger...sorta like Mike Hunt.

"The Slickrock Strangler" would be a great serial killer name

Nice shirt.

That it would, Daylight, especially if he accosted his victims while they were riding on the Slickrock Bike trail near Moab!

The Stranger part is because I play music and "roam the canyon country" with my brothers Even Stranger and Waaaaaaay Stranger.

And to Ken from above.....

Thanks for the overly kind words, but I'm "just trying to have me some fun" as one of my heroes sang. I'm just a goofball gadfly hitting the low hanging fruit in Utah. It's really easy and not dangerous. "Absurdly shining a light on the absurd." Trying to do it humorously like Arlo, with inspiration from folks like his dad and Pete Seeger. Not to mention new guys like Todd Snider. We need protest singers in this country. And after I retire from my government job October 1st, I can be a bit more boisterous and out there.  Might just travel to Idaho to rile Ammon Bundy before the election.

No balls of steel necessary. My admiration and inspiration are the real heroes risking their lives standing up to tyrants, like Pussy Riot and Navalny and folks in Hong Kong who actually do risk their lives and well-being and that of their families standing up to them.  And folks like you who go off into the wilderness to sit in trees and block logging road construction far away from any police protection. That's courageous.

As former right-wing Utah legislator Mike Noel told me at a Capitol rally "Slickrock, you're a goonball." And ya know, I kinda agree! LOL

Thank you Mr. Slip rock, keep up the good work. Love the signs!

>>>Nice shirt

Ah, someone noticed the bolts. It's got some nice SYF embroidery on the back, too. Part of my "official" SS get up.

I got it at Targhee Bluegrass Fest a few years ago from a Colorado guy who sold GD merch at Red Rocks and other places in Colorado.

I remember when I got it I ran into a guy who looked just like the departed Zoner Gitmo.

Back of Shirt (800x600).jpg

Right on slickrock!

Yay, Slickrock! Thanks for representing the voice of reason.

Wikipedia answered my question.  I guess the former policy of the LDS was to to condemn birth control, but now they leave it up to couples to choose:

>>>>>>

The current church stance is that "decisions about birth control and the consequences of those decisions rest solely with each married couple" and that they should consider "the physical and mental health of the mother and father and their capacity to provide the basic necessities of life for their children" when planning a family.[90] The church "strongly discourages" surgical sterilization like vasectomies and tubal ligation and encourages members to only turn to it for serious medical conditions after discussing it with a bishop.[91] The LDS Church opposes elective abortion "for personal or social convenience"[92] but states that abortion could be an acceptable option in cases of rape, incest, danger to the health or life of the mother, or where the fetus has been diagnosed with "severe defects that will not allow the baby to survive beyond birth."[92]

In the past the use of birth control methods including artificial contraception was explicitly condemned by LDS Church leaders. Beginning in July 1916, apostles were quoted stating that birth control was a "pernicious doctrine" and that "limiting the number of children in a family...is sinful".[93][94] The first time that any approval of a non-abstinence fertility control method was publicly expressed occurred in a 1942 Improvement Era article in which apostle John A. Widtsoe mentioned the rhythm method as an acceptable means of spacing children.[95] In his influential 1956 treatise Doctrines of Salvation, then apostle Joseph Fielding Smith called birth control a wickedness which leads to damnation and caused the downfall of nations. He further stated that an LDS couple that deliberately prevents themselves from having more children after their second or third child is guilty of iniquity which must be punished.[96][97] The 1958 edition of Bruce R. McConkie's popular book Mormon Doctrine stated that all those using condoms or other artificial contraception are "in rebellion against God and are guilty of gross wickedness."[98]:12 The BYU Honor Code in 1968 stated that "the Church does not approve of any form of birth control."[99] In 1969 the first and only First Presidency statement on birth control was released; it reemphasized that it was "contrary to the teachings of the Church artificially to curtail or prevent the birth of children", though, for the first time there was a clarification that men should be considerate to "conserve" the "health and strength" of their wives when planning families since they carry the "greater responsibility" for bearing and rearing children.[100]

Other discussions of the topic include those by Ezra Taft Benson, who became a church president. He stated that those that advocate for birth control perpetuate types of government that cause famine,[101][102][103]:540 that couples should not prevent births for selfish reasons,[103]:543[104][105] and that a sterilization operation could "jeapordiz[e] your exaltation."[103]:541[106][107] As recently as 2003 a church manual was published containing a quote from the late church president Spencer W. Kimball stating that the church does not "condone nor approve of" measures of contraception which greatly "limit the family".[108]

The church's insurance company Deseret Mutual Benefits Administrators which provides coverage for its employees does not cover any form of birth control and will only cover sterilization by vasectomy or tubal ligation for a couple if the woman has already had five children or is over forty.[109][110][111]

Go, Slickrock, GO!

> Racket is just back from kicking Mike's ass

I must've missed that somehow, BK. How badly was I wounded? Not mortally, I hope.

> we need to stand up to these wingnuts.

I'm with you on the standing up to, Slickrock, but talking sense to crazy people is an exercise in futility, if not its own kind of craziness.

"I've always been crazy. It keeps me from going insane."

That's excellent Slick!

Great that they covered you on the news.

Slick, that huff post is comical.  Watch with your own eyes.

https://twitter.com/roofkorean7/status/1427032046883336198?s=21

Give them hell!

Talked to the Utah State and Salt Lake County Health Departments looking at the legal angle.

Do they have a right to spread disease? I say morally and ethically, of course not. And he did not proactively do that from his podium.

But do they have a legal right of free speech to SAY they have a right to spread disease? Yep.

The First Amendment even protects spewing misinformation. Seeing social media sites over the last year would prove that.

And Local, they didn't cover it this time. The other was last April. Haven't seen a thing in the media about this. That's good.

Way to kick ass!

Meanwhile in Oregonia....

Don't they know that masks are the cure for Resting Bitch Face?

>>must've missed that somehow, BK. How badly was I wounded? Not mortally, I hope.

Just a touch of amnesia, but the prognosis is positive.

Good thing you're doing your thang in soft Utah, them LA rallies be rough.

I bet the person who did the stabbing was an anti-v. Here's a fallow up article from the one you posted Slick.

Man stabbed at anti-vax rally in L.A. is released from hospital - Los Angeles Times
