Those of you who depend upon Rx

Forums:

Have you thought about or acted upon increasing your "stash" in recent times?

I'm hypothyroid (Hashimotos) and now have nearly a two year supply if need be.

Learned about the former gag rule a few months ago when it made news, and coincidentally had asked my local pharmacist just prior about the lowest possible cost for a year supply of meds.   I even asked her to give me her best possible price ... since it'd be out of pocket and was just "insurance" for my own peace of mind ... yet she came in at $350 or so.   I then even asked her if that's the best she could do & she said yes and gave a story about how Levothyroxin is in short supply & kind of went into "auto mode" asking "So, would you like us to fill that for you?".   I said no, and that just for laughs I'd shop around on the internet to see what prices are out there ... and even if it's a little cheaper (but still close) I'd come back to fill the Rx.  So, low and behold it turns out the Rx is significantly cheaper elsewhere & Walmart was able to fill the year's supply for about $40 total!

Best deals aside, have you considered the possibility that a shitstorm - of various makings - could interrupt the supply of medication you might need to get by?

No, but then I don't spend as much time worrying about things as the average progressive leftist appears to.

I know that it's hard to accept, but society is not about to collapse simply because Donald Trump is President.

Those damn progressive leftists, proactively thinking about obtaining their needed medication.  Bastards!!!

Also you’re not worried about a price increase because you can drive the Jaguar your families money bought you to the pharmacy and pay more for prescriptions because you were born on 3rd base.

How is taking reasonable precautions about one's life not a conservative position?

If you were conservative you wouldn’t have shopped around.  You would have paid the highest price you could to a friends company.

Thom?  You need to get back in here and answer this reasonable question.  I know you won't but you should.

Poor Thom.  (thanks to the zoner that posts that, very appropriate)  But Tom, Damn dude why make everything about politics?  That silver spoon up your ass tickling a bit? Tee hee, thom thinks the USA is untouchable. "Singing I got mine and you got yours..."

To the question, that is smart and yes I do think about such things. Im switching to three months at a time.  And did you know you can get antibiotics at farm stores? Not a bad idea to have a stash.  Its not paranoid to plan ahead. I wouldn't want my family to get sick because of lack of maintenance drugs. Hell I even own a fire extinguisher, a first aid kit - you know, just n case.

Those damn liberal progressive Mormons keeping a two year supply of everything on hand. Someone needs to tell them to stop voting Republican and get on the zippity-do-dah it's wonderful day bandwagon.

Trump must be pretty psyched to have loyal bootlickers

like Thom and "Bryen".

so thom, i assume since you wont be needing any extra meds in case of emergency, since the world isnt falling apart and there wont be an emergency, then we can put heavier controls on guns and limit gun sales to simple hunting rifles, right?

since there isnt going to be any kind of emergency to prepare for or defend against that should be all good right?

>>> No, but then I don't spend as much time worrying about things as the average totalitarian appears to.

is this what you meant to post?

you don't need to use code words anymore.

And then there's the issue of nudging one's parents who might be dependent on Rx, yet are set in their ways and with insurance picking up the tab.

If the world collapsed and we entered into a time of Armageddon, the future of the human race will depend on only the fittest of the species. As such, if you need medication to stay alive, please do the human race a favor and take one for the team.

The real question is whether you'll have "credentials" to make it inside some bunker before the door slams shut upon the masses?

Or, perhaps whether this is far from a joking matter?

9 mm credentials?

Personally I'm checking out as soon as the hot water runs out
