Ticket Bot Ban

Forums:

In response to Obama's nationwide passing of the law, Ticketmaster issued a statement.

"On behalf of artists, venues, teams, and especially fans, Ticketmaster is pleased that the BOTS Act is now a federal law," the company said in a statement picked up by Pitchfork. "Ticketmaster worked closely with legislators to develop the BOTS Act and we believe its passage is a critical step in raising awareness and regulating the unauthorized use of Bots."

The BOTS Act was passed by both the Senate and the House of Representatives last week before Obama signed it into law. The act now allows the federal government to get involved and file civil suits against scalpers using such ticket-buying software.
