Todd again

Forums:

Anyone see him in Atlantic City for this new tour??

Very interested in what he is playing this time

I review on Thursday

http://www.todd-rundgren.com/tr-tour.html

Just in case u ever  wondered what it would’ve sounded like if Christopher cross performed the white album

Did you ever have the misfortune of attending a Paul Todd show in FL?  Some of the cheesiest stuff I have ever seen or worked!  Keyboard synth tripe from the 90's possibly the 80's.  Supposedly, he's a Christian artist and hoo boy were the baskets he passed out full.  I didn't buy any of it, laughable.  Sorry for the rant.  What I heard about Rundgren's last string of shows was that they were too political.

So this is sort of the Ringo Starr deal, without Ringo Starr?

I think Todd has fallen and he can't get up.

Whoa that guy’s hair is crazy

Your nephew has really grown, 4winds. And I admire your bro's hair, big time. Is he still playing middle infield for the Cubbies?

Remember Todd’s Faithful album? One side was all covers including good vibrations that sounded just like The Beach Boys, if 6 was 9, a few others. I believe he played all instruments and vocals, mixed and produced that side all himself. The second side was him and Utopia doing originals. Great Record

It's one of Todd's best tours in years, it;s a must see. I saw the show in SF a few months ago and it was awesome.

Hmmm,  lots o' good old cheesey pop singalongs here. Sounds like fun.

Looking forward to the review, Tim.

Woz, you saw the white album tour?

Last year was The Unpredictable Tour  5+ starts

6 months ago was the Individualist Tour 4 stars (only mentioned trump once)

Tonight is the 3rd night of the White Album Tour

Team Todd fans are a very odd group of characters.....there is nothing wrong with odd

That was my point

> Woz, you saw the white album tour?

Oops, no......I thought this was another leg of the Hello It's me tour he just did....

Yeah, a Fake Peter Cetera covering Chicago songs, and Micky Dolenz? He can't be the drummer in this band.

As with most things Todd for me these days, I'll be skipping this one.

No No NO to all you naysayers

This show was an absolute fucking blast!!!

All the "stars" sang 2 songs each and the rest was a big portion of the white album. I have evolved into a big Todd fan over the years and was intrigued by this show, I went in with no real expectations. My wife is a huge Beatles fan and I get to hear it often, but I don't tend to have it heavy in my rotation.

They played at the Broward Performing Arts Center, if you have never been ther it is a lush, beautiful and great sounding room. Holds I think close to 3000.

Christopher Cross? Micky Dolen? Jason Scheff? What am I getting myself into?

Well the crowd as most would suspect was older and very well dressed. I was surprised how many dancers were in the crowd too.

The weakest part of the show was the two Monkeys songs played, I never liked or respected the monkeys. He did not play the drums some other cat I can't name did and the drummer was good. Mickey did play a mean tambourine and sang a many songs that were very solid but the Rocky Raccoon was fantastic.

Christopher Cross sang his tune Ride Like The Wind and to my surprise was a real rocker. I did not even know that was his song. He also sang a lot of the slower songs and he did a very good job. He's got some chops on him. Blackbird was a very good effort.

Joey Molland  only sang 3 songs with 2 being Badfinger's they were fair, but they brought him in for his guitar skills. That fucker can play, he did most of the heavy jams and did them well.

Jason Scheff AKA Fake Peter Cetera was fantastic, yea I said it, fantastic. Chicago 25 or 6 to 4 was a huge crowd favorite, He sang Dear Prudence and it was GOOD. He has some very good vocals and he is a solid rhythm player.

Todd MF Rudgren, the show was his idea and project and he has a stage full of talent that knew their spot and they all played very well in their own way. He was the only one to have costume changes 5 or 6 and each for the songs he played. From the white suit with now shoes to army camo with a big water squirt gun. The last song he sang as he even said on stage that it takes a toll on his vocal cords was Helter Fuckin Skelter. I did not think they were playing it from a previous set list I saw. The first notes played I knew what it was and that is a fuckin mosh pit song if I ever heard one. He did not hold back and that alone for me was worth the price ($69) of admission alone.

Players came and left the stage so it wasn't packed except for the opening USSR and the closing Birthday and Ob-La-Di, Oh-La-Da when they were all up there. I think 6 guitars 1 drum, 2 keys and a tambourine.

I would rate this as a solid 4.45 stars and would highly recommend getting out to see this show.

I was not on drugs either.

Well alright. You enjoyed the show, which is all that matters.
