Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers’ 40th Anniversary Tour

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers has been treating the world to its distinct take on heartland /blues rock for the past 40 years. To celebrate the milestone, the band is throwing a party of an anniversary tour, which kicks off in April. Joe Walsh and Chris Stapleton appear as special guests on select dates.

Over the past four decades Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers has released 13 studio albums. Its most recent, Hypnotic Eye, was released in 2014.

A write-up from Rolling Stone about the band’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2002 declared that after forming in Gainesville, Fla., in 1976, the musicians “would mix their southern roots with Byrdsy guitar textures and vocal harmonies, and eventually, on the strength of Petty’s hook-filled songwriting, create one of rock’s most enduring catalogs.”

Notable singles include “Don’t Do Me Like That,” “The Waiting,” “You Got Lucky,” “Mary Jane's Last Dance,” “Refugee,” and “Don't Come Around Here No More.”

I don't read much, I just look at pictures and dates.

I have seen him a few times.  Caught him a couple of years ago, and he was great.  Winwood opened, and he was good also.  Worth the money.

West coast tour should have a Las Vegas run.

If seeing Tom Petty is that important then a trip to Colorado isn't too crazy to consider. Red Rocks is my favorite venue.

Not every body has enough free time to travel to mediocre events, like you do.

Way to go baller!

Joe Walsh on select dates (most of them). Great opener.

Had Steve Winwood open last time and made for an excellent evening of music - although no collaboration ensued.

SUMMERVEST IS GONNA RAGE

Havent checked yet, but if joe walsh is opening htfd show...ill be there...prob go either way...i also caught the last winwood petty tour mentioned above....my only complaint.(which i expected) was that not enough time was blocked out for winwood, as it was consistantly a 45-60 minute set (around east coast anyway)

Tom Petty at Mountain Jam should be pretty epic. Wish I was going.

Hey Las Vegas, now that the economy is bumping again,

Bring back Vegoose in October.

LOL Breh, not gonna happen.

Love Petty

Walsh not so much

Definitely doing at least one night of Forest Hills

Meh.

Petty makes a great date night.  Take a chick, and she will be so pissed at the men she has dated by the end of the show.  She will fuck the hell out of you to get back

at them.

Take some Viagra with you, and pop it when the encore starts.

Mt. Jam jumped the shark years ago. Weak ass lineup even with Petty.  Saw Tom once at the Bridge School Benefit at Shoreline and it was really good.  I went to three Mt. Jams in the early years when Warren was directly involved and they raged.  Now not so much.  Not even close to the caliber it should be.

Mt. Jam = Joke

It's too bad

Fun in beginning

Kind of like Rothbury fun for a couple of years, then they hung it up.  Don't know why.  Possibly Mt. Jam should have done the same thing.

Are you talking to yourself in the two posts above the last post, Chris?

Top dollar geezer rock.  Save your $
